| John DiFool 11-05-2005 02:43 PM MST | | Wasn't this one on NC already? If you played the author's other map Fin, you basically have the same thing here: quasi-realistic flat-but-undulating mazelike layout.
| franko 11-05-2005 11:50 PM MST | Rating: 6.5 | | Sorry, I didn't remember seeing this old map listed at Nali City; I did a search but it didn't show up. Yes, the same author also produced Fin; in fact the readme file with this map says the title of the map is Fin, I have no idea why. He also never titled the utx file, it's just "untitled".
I've been lurkin' here a long time, and saw that a lot of old UT maps were being reposted for review, so I'm the big foo who submitted it, found it on an old CD.
A somewhat large map but lots of opportunities for in your face battles. Trying to cap the flag with 14 or more participants (or bots on adept or higher) can be difficult at times with no shield belt, armor, jumpboots or anything else but health vials and one superhealth powerup available.
The bots seem to be able to blast holes open in the walls at the sides, but I always had trouble getting them to open up, using the author's suggestion.
There was also an update of this map called Meth - where the two big hill things had passages which contained armor and shield belt.
I have a family get together planned for Thanksgiving weekend. A 16 port ethernet hub UT lan party (CTF and DM) is part of it, and this will be one of the many maps in the cycle, just for old times sake.
