Map DescriptionStory:

Liandri Mining Corporation built the "Pollux" station as a mining outpost on the inhospitable planet "Kyrion II" many years ago. The lava of a near vulcano provided the station with energy, but after several eruptions, it became to difficult to keep the lava under control. So the station was finally abandoned and left forsaken for a long time in which the vulcano destroyed most of the structures.
When only a small part was left, Liandri decided to reopen the outpost as a tournament arena. The arena became popular quickly, because fighting there is extremely dangerous due to the lava that broke through walls and floors in some places.
Be very careful when moving in there!


The only requirements are Unreal Tournament v436 and the official BonusPack 4, because textures from "SGTech1.utx" are used. The pack "richrig.utx" is included in the zip.
BUT: A pretty fast computer is also required because of the high polycounts in this Map!
I would suggest to set your Color-Depth to 32Bit, otherwise some Textures might look a bit ugly.

very nice map. the visuals are nice, the gameplay is nice. took me a while to find the flak cannon. all and all, a good map.

Hm, thats the only thing that I thought while playing! It's not great, it's not bad. There are some things that could be better, for example the lighting, it's too white at some places. This walltex looks boring. And those glassramps are too thin, looks strange to me! But who cares!
Overall this is a good map!

Edit: Those meshpipes suck, coz you see them in places where they don't have to be seen!

Hiho revelation! So you're still alive, good to know ;)

I have to say that i expected something more from you, especially after Darkov.
As milb said these pipes are crap, maybe one gets this impression because you used it such a lot. The richrig floor texture is scaled to high i think, 0.5 would be nicer! But it's still a solid, average map. I like the idea with those holes in the floor filled with lava, hurting the one who steps into it.

Well, as the readme says, it's a one-week-map, so nothing special.
The pipes: I also would have prefered to use BSP-pipes, but think about the polycount. It is too high anyway.
Lighting: It is not completely white, but you're right, it's a little boring, although this is, how electrical lights look^^
Wall tex: I know it's boring, but other SG-texes sucked even more.
All in all, I can agree with you.

[edit] IndySkyz: Well, there were actually two weeks between beginning the map and finishing it, but I was not at home for six days, so one week is true.

It was nice, very nice.

The Maskedsheets+translucentSheets gave my PC a beating though.

The lighting could be better, the red was a nice break from the white lights.

I especially liked the two pillars with the lavastream inside and with the other one being broken. I didn't mind those MeshPipes actually.

This map Rocks for a UT map, it looks more like a 2k4 map and has a cool theme that works itself into the maps gameplay, layout is great and it ran pretty smooth for me, the only thing I cant belive is that you could do all this in one week. Great map.
