A Remake of the old classic map used alot in Clanbase wars, Extortion. of all the incarnations of it, if have to say this it the worst one i've ever seen.

It's too plain, too short, all the boxes for cover arent there anymore, and the ones that are there are just rammed up against walls and are about 512x512x512. Really not a nice map to navigate as no navigation is required, its just a straight from from flag room, to base room, to middle room, to other base room and then to other flag room, and the choice of routes back is pretty limited too. You can either choose the same route back, or take a high route which requires you to double bac on yourself and run along the catwalk. The map doesnt make for good flagruns and neither does it have good playability.
I only managed to capture 1 flag before i made my mind up about the map.

Unlike Extortion, this map has no dedicated respawn room and the playerstarts are just in the main flag area. so again, the playerstart issue leads to another flaw in playability. once that flags taken and 1 good fragger manages to get 2 or 3 hits on the defenders, the flag is as good as capped.

I believe there are no weapons in this map as the Author's aim may have been to remake a map for an Instagib Server maybe ? well, im not too sure what the map was made for but i know for sure its made for the Instagib players.

As for botpathing, i didnt really notice any. On my brisk run from flag to flag and back again i didnt really meet much resistance in the central area's, only in the main flagroom itself.

Texturing is rather plain and simple, but not to my taste. 1 wall texture is used for the whole map, and 1 ceiling, floor/base and others. so texturing is definatly a weak point. As the walls are large and textured plainly, some decoration such as pillars or windows would be nice.
And i really dont see the point in the custom textures. Pics of some modded car and its owner posing pasted around the arena. really ruined whatever theme was in the map and just map it look plasticy and tacky. Try to refrain from this type of texturing because it just ruins the feel of the map when played.

Lighting isn't spectacular either. I noticed some lights dotted around in the floor on some upper ramps and walkways, and few in the middle area's.
These lights were aweful. Lighting may have been achieved better if lights were in walls, and on ceilings asn light would be projected onto the floor, and not upwards making the floor harder to see.
Light colours ranged from red, to blue. nothing special in this department really. Really bland.

I think the Author could do with studying some tutorials on lighting, texturing, and architecture / deco. with these things all beefed up id like to see an updated version of this map as i rather enjoyed playing Extortion.

Id say this map looks like a first release after a few maps getting used to the editor, and in my opinion id say its a good first release as the author already seems to have the idea of learning from others' maps, and has made a (online/lan) playable map.

This map could be quite fun as due to its small size and limit of 2 routes. Alot of Stand-Of's would arise in this arena, and in a small game of 2on2 iCTF would last close to hours. But, the main drawback of the map is again, its size, layout and build and i predict wouldnt have a very long lifespan, maybe 2 or 3 matches or so.

So, my last thoughts.
Read some tut's and improve mainly your lighting, architecture/deco and gameplay. And some day you could be a well respected mapper maybe.
