Map DescriptionAfter the great success of Rankin, the audience wanted more industrial maps. So a famous architect was hired to construct a new Arena. 2 years later, the constructions on the planet AV-79 had to be canceled because of problems with instable ground. The new place, where the Arena should be built, was the neighbour planet AV-70. This planet was a lot hotter, so there had to be cooling devices installed that were not planed by the architect. After 3 years, the Arena was finished at last and could be opened for the tournament.

v 2.0:

-Changed Item placement
-Enhanced graphics
-Fixed blocking volumes
-Liftjumps fixed
-Added dodge-up ramp (but I killed the botpaths there :-( )
-Closed the shaft from former lg room, so now its a dead end and added a DD there. I think it fits.

very nice map. pretty nice gameplay flow. decent visuals. abit noisy with all of the fans though. but overall, deffinently a keeper :)

Good map overall, but:

LG and shock are too close.

Too many +25 health pickups, even for 4 players.

SERIOUS blocking volume problems. Projectiles go through ALL the holes in the floor and the walls. (try shooting bio to the floor on the bio-crossroad! Also, a flak cannon in a room where 50% of the floor is useless for flak secondary is quite nonsense.

Anyway, RL next to flak is also a NO. Rethink weaponplacement! Flak in the biggest room, where there are probaby long distant fights don't fit. Swith flak with shock! This would solve the first mentioned bug as well.

That ventill-room with a single lamp inside would be a perfect place for a DD, with the entrance closed to the shock. It would be too easy to get from the shock, but it's quite hard to get into the room from the other side. (Shieldjumps are hard for me to pull off =/)

So, I'm waiting for a fixed release, the rest is quite fine! 6.0 for this version.


EDIT: played SE. Upgraded score. :) DD is placed nasty!!

Nice map overall, well done and worth the download...
- The broken floor could have had a crystal sheet to make it more realistic.
- I think the DoubleDamage does not work well in small maps...
- I like ambient sounds in a map, but here they are quite loud. I keep feeling the sounds a bit 'hypnotic' in SE version...
- Bots play well, but they behave quite dumb in the dodgeramps.
Edit: Nice improvements in the SE version, I changed the score and part of my comment...
Edit2: Wardwarf, I've just seen the dodgeramps are not pathed correctly. The JumpSpot should be in the higher spot (over the ramp) and the apple must be on the lowest floor. It's not necessary a new version for that, just keep in mind it for you next work... ;)

wonder what the "update" is? and what version I have?

At any rate the version I have plays pretty well this is pretty darn good. I look forward to your next efforts.

although the its near impossible to get up the dodge ramps and the bots just stand at the bottom of them!

The map was a pretty cool map. There are alot of things in it though that were strange though.
For one, it's supposed to be a really hot planet. Yet, the skybox was calm and warm. Second, the computer players had no idea how to use the dodge ramps, they looked like babies trying to escape a playpen. Third, the blocking volume on the inclines and such were very weird. No projectiles can pass through them, nor corpses. You should of made it blockkarma false, and block nonwhatever false too, to allow projectiles and corpses to pass through. I've seen better from you, so next time make it work better.

I played it, it was quite good , the item placement is good and the map feels a little unique, "jamais vue"

The sounds where a little out loud in my opinion near those vent.

The outdoor was decent from inside view. Looking for more from you. Good frame rates and recomended for players that like simple architecture layout.
