| mozart 04-05-2005 06:23 PM MDT | Rating: 9.5 | | Roy Rules, Yro rolls and Hanoi Rocks!
the good - This is about as good a DM map as I've seen in a long time. played this against bots, humans and two lizards. great play either way. - Just about the right size for dm, weapons, health and ammo are available but not too saturated. - I really like the little touches like the screen in the big room and the monitors that your not supposed to stop and read :) And I can see my house from the window in the floor! - had everything I needed, lizards, rocket launcher, robots, an insect that was stupid enough to challenge me with a lightning gun....
the bad - couldn't really find anything that glared at me. Didn't find a single big flaw. of course I'm looking at this from a player's standpoint not a mapper's.
- the closest i could come to a complaint is the neutral color scheme. it's rather blue and kinda sublte but not offensive. some people might think it's too plain. I liked it.
download now. don't wait. why are you still waiting?
| G.Lecter 04-05-2005 02:40 PM MDT | Rating: 7 | | - He, nice music, it's a bit weird fighting with shuch a happy soundtrack, but I liked it... - The visuals are not spectacular, but not bad at all, it's just something different... The skybox should have been a moving skybox, I don't feel the building where I am is floating in the air. I liked the city overview though... - Where the level lacks is in the floorplan. The layout has its z-axis and its lift (with possible liftjump), but it's still too simple, and symetrical. I miss more connectivity. I also miss the BioRifle. It will be a great map for people learning this game, but I think it won't be possible making a good strategical TDM here... Worth a look, I will keep it in my hard drive for some time...
| Fuzzy Logic 04-05-2005 08:08 PM MDT | Rating: 7.5 | | A good map with no obvious flaws. It plays well and the different look is welcome.
Music: OMG! Did you not know this is the theme tune to Miss Marples? I cannot take seriously a DM map which makes me think of Margaret Rutherford...
| 213 04-06-2005 02:25 AM MDT | Rating: 8.5 | | Top shelf stuff here. The layout seems a bit simplistic for my taste, but the clean, smooth creamy goodness brings this puppy to a sparkley shine! The shaders/details perfect the futuristic gleaming metal look, all vibrant and glisten-y, much like warm cocoa butter sizzling in the sun on the back of a hot supermodel type chick. Mmmm,... cocoa butter....
| Manticore 04-09-2005 03:18 AM MDT | Rating: 6.5 | | It feeels a bit oldskool but the gameplay is there. It probably could have done with a bit more light and shadow to set off the atmosphere....
| Nagromme 01-26-2006 02:15 AM MST | Rating: 9 | | One of the few maps that makes me launch UT just to play it. I'm not sure why, but this is one of my favorites.
Two great things:
1. The music. Hilarious.
2. The theme. Many UT themes make you feel like you're slogging through a filthy, poorly-lit industrial basement. This is probably because you're slogging through a filthy, poorly-lit industrial basement. Well Yro is a very refreshing change: it has real lighting and it looks like someone actually mops every now and then. Plus it's not the same old brown color scheme. It looks pleasant, where so many UT maps look--intentionally--unpleasant.
