EDIT 2: Ok, Fileworks acted weird the other day, d/l'ing, and thanks for the info, gonna give feedback when played and rate it.
EDIT 3: Very disappointing, the screenies look nicer than the map. Really, interior added this would make for a nice map, but this is not what I expected to see. :(

EDIT 4: Don't take this personal, the shots just promised more of a map than it actually was, at least to me. And my opinion only counts if you want it to. Or you can get your friends to post 10 scores to even my 5.5, which I honestly think is mild. But please, don't go picking a useless discussion :(

I'm being a little nice to you here, as the map is solid for it's type of gameplay. I did find a few faults, though.

1) I saw ammo of the Sniper Rifle and Lightning Gun, but didn't see the weapons themselves. The rifles themselves would be perfect for this map, though.

2) The Redeemer. It's in a place that's too easy to get to. Maybe put it behind a movable wall or something next time, and make the player work to get it.

3) Weapon placement. The Shock Rifle would be better suited for the ground placement than on top of the building due to the fact that you'll have to fight off a sniper. Put the Link Gun and Sniper RifleLightning Gun on the level that the Keg o Health is on, and move the Flak Cannon and Rocket Launcher to the middle of the top area. That way they're optimised for each area and style of combat.

4) Shields. At the least you could have put one small shield on the area where the Shock Rifle currently is.

Layout wise, it's perfect for 1on1 and small numbers, with maybe a max of 5. The multi level building might actually be better with a small interior for close quarters combat, and it could use some trees, but it works without either one.

For visuals, it's nothing spectacular, which actually helps it in my eyes, as it refrains from taking away from the gameplay. Eyecandy is not always good for this type of map.

Overall, it works, but the weapon layout and not having either the Lightning Gun or Sniper Rifle, even though you have ammo for them, really brings down the score.

A decent map, and worth use in online play if you want a crazy time.

Edit: Bio for sure if you're adding an inner area. Mini might be good as well.

= Visuals: There is not anything spectacular in this map, but the visuals are well done. A small emitter on the jumpads would have been well.
= Layout: The layout is really simple, a piece of terrain with a building in the middle.
- 3 different height levels, but not many posibilities of z-axing.
- I get serious damage when I fall to the lowest floor (terrain) even using the shieldgun secondary…
- There are lots of hiding spots on the lowest floor (in 1on1, the player with most frags could hide there and wait the end of the match without being detected).
= Item placement: The layout was not a bad idea, but, unfortunately, the pickup placement destroyed the gameplay completely:
- FlakCannon, RocketLauncher & 100Health are in the same place.
- A redeemer in 1on1 is not a good idea in my opinion...
- Lots of healths & DoubleDamage on the top of the bulding.
- There is not anything attractive on the lowest floor (only linkgun & redeemer).
- There are lots of lighting & sniper ammo, but I have not seen any Sniper/LightingGun pickup in the map.
= Bots: Bots are correctly pathed. The playercount is set to around 8 players & I have to put ‘killbots -> addbots 1’ to leave only one playing…
= Music: Very good music that brings more ambience to the map….

Well for starters you have this"BonusPack.xLastManStandingGame" in the default map type so it loads wrong gametype,also it felt like a boring map right away,a tad to cramped and vertical play,if you made each level smaller than each other would be better for playing,but then youd get a pyramid map style.

I don't know how much it matters but you could kill some of the visibility of the terain polys behind the terains then add add a few antiportals in around the outsides for even better fps (map does not run slow ,but to run fast as possible is best).

You have 3 torches in the walls,the meshes surrounding them have to be pushed down or someway,I can see the meshes bleeding through.And,you have 3 lights in between 3 torches,map looks basicaly ok but all in all to crampy with to vertical play.It might be fun............

EDIT, there is ONE antiportal in the middle,I just checked.

anyway redfist , i will enjoy ur comment the day you will start to understand what mapping is ,
giving a CBP2 map a 2 is not good for your reputation , and now everyone knows you here for lots of idiot comment (even if i am worse than him sommetimes)

WHAT i want is comments , I-want-10-all-over-the-place is for kid , i don't see why i would cry now for a 0 , sure that if anyone put a 0 , then it would be so encouraging to do somme work again *sacasm*



edit:and even my friend are honest , they won't give this map a '10

they would give it their true opinion

anyways guys , im gonna put a version 2.00 of it , witch almost every thing that as said will be ameliorated ,¸

Lighting:
The bad:
Your coronas are imho a bit big,
I told you before that you shouldnt put your brightness so far for corona's, lower them to 64/32 or lower for better result.
also you used like 3 or 4 corona's per lightsource whats up with that?
Your flames do not hurt.
The good:
They at least emit the color of the lightsource.

textures:
The bad:
You just slapped em on without any thought.
They are all black-ish so they dont light up very well
the good:
none, besides the terrain, but its very simple.

Sounds:
the bad:
Only 1 sound (torches)
the good:
nothing really.

gameplay:
Not much, ugly jinyang (the white one needs a black eye) thingies make you jump up.

Its a first, but id almost prefer redfists work above this one.

Kanham, id suggest you practice more on solid gameplay and atmoshpere,
ive told you a few times allready that you shouldnt submit maps that arent halfway finished.

you can do better.

I had a great deal of fun on this map, i beleive the comment was raised before about no lightning gun, which is a shame being my fav weapon. but i loved the idea of being "king of the castle" and trying to hold my place at the top of the structure, the reflective yin-yan (or whatever they're called) signs looked really nice. The music suited this map PERFECTLY. i really hope you bring out a V2 of this idea because ill download it :o) remember to pop that lightning gun in.

not like ut2004 that much (just as bad as ut2003.....)

bots seem to be a bit blind sometimes but enjoyed the gameplay after i re-pathed to bots

do some (more) UT maps Kan they rock more

pleasant dreams.... ;)
