| Crash24 10-17-2004 08:55 PM MDT | Rating: 4.5 | | This map requires the ECE Bonus Pack, since it uses all three of the new vehicles.
The Good: *Security monitors at each node *Node forts provide decent spawn cover *Lots of nodes, decent layouts *Bases are "next" to each other at the top of the map, while the nodes stretch downward. That is a nice touch.
The Bad: *Lighting/fog is terrible. The whites burn my retinas and the dark of the shadows is far too black. Blizzard-like conditions are fine, but if it's too white for me to see my crosshair - that's way too white. *I know that the map is in some arctic wasteland, but it is awfully sparse. Throw in some rocks or something. *Dragonfly/Phoenix. You have a nice gantry/bay setup to get into the bomber, but the darn thing is too hard to control. If you had a custom version with better control, I'd give you major points.
I say this map has good potential. Fix it up and upload it again.
| Scrotius 10-18-2004 03:35 AM MDT | | Thanks for the feedback, the overly whiteness was not my original idea, the first map had no fog and so you could see infinitely and clearly but this ran much too slowly. As for the dragonfly, yes it is hard to drive, there is a tutorial on my website on how to use it (www.markbarton.co.uk) but it is mostly there just for fun, it serves no real use.
| Draco 10-28-2004 04:04 PM MDT | Rating: 6 | | Nice map but to bright.
| GTD-Carthage 10-28-2004 09:41 PM MDT | | Suggestively, a greyish dark blue fog may appear better. With the color, the map certainly looks like being blasted in a freezing blizzard.
| sandorski 11-10-2004 06:05 PM MST | Rating: 6 | | Looks alright, the placement of the Leviathan is somewhat problematic though.
