| Shao 08-11-2003 09:13 PM MDT | Rating: 0 | | What the hell is this maps?!
The only thing i see it in this maps is just only two flag face to it. and 2 canada flag. this maps is boring like hell.
| zenpunk 08-12-2003 11:48 AM MDT | Rating: 10 | | I like it. A simple, fun CTF level. Another variation on Thorns, sort of, with a little underwater action if you like.
Edit: Yes, Thorns V2 is great, to those of us that actually play it with live groups ... it's almost always in our rotation and provides a fast, hot battle. I imagine this map will catch on like that too. Ya gotta rate a map for what it is. This is *not* an elaborate dungeon for sightseeing in. It's a simple level layed out well for a quick, exciting battle. Two zero ratings? Boy, you guys have to catch a clue. Maybe if either of you knew how to map...
PS- my real rating for this map would be about a 7, but I gotta give it a 10 to offset the noob reviews a little.
| _GMotha 08-13-2003 07:51 AM MDT | Rating: 0 | | and thorns is good, isn't it?
[edit]yes we're n00bs, we bash thorns for no good kind of reason and this map is top-notch. I guess you think that andaction is one of the greatest maps too
| The_Real_Meneer_Aard 08-13-2003 12:57 PM MDT | Rating: 0 | | dude... this is a box.
| bubbathefool 08-21-2003 12:33 AM MDT | Rating: 10 | | Some people don't get it. This is a genre of maps that make for terrific game play on servers of small to medium groups. Thorns ][, CTF-DiePiggyPiggy ][, CTF-ForTheBelievers and now, CANADA. The_Real_Meneer_Aard has rated this map a 0 and claims to have built some maps that people like. I'd love to try one of these, seriously.
[EDIT]... I suspect...no, make that UNDERSTAND that a lot of comments are coming from those who play against the AI and need twists, turns, etc. Certainly none of these boxy maps we're talking about run on servers other than ours (except of course THORNS). There ain't nothing wrong with boxes if they're done right. Meanwhile I have to go with zenpunk and give this map a 10 to average things out (no, it's not a 10, but 0? Gimmee a break).
| wing_zero_ex 08-14-2003 01:45 AM MDT | Rating: 1 | | Repeat after me"I will not make bs like this again".
| Mxtrmntr 08-20-2003 05:50 PM MDT | Rating: 1 | | Oh well, it's better than Thorns, as it actually tries to have a theme. Of course, ancient egyptian buildings featuring the maple leaf are pretty rare; and it's not like the ones here look very good. Gameplay and weapon placement are nearly as terrible as Thorns', of course :|
| Nahand 08-21-2003 06:57 AM MDT | Rating: 1 | | Get this: a cubic map with almost NO features at all could be mappe by a 4 year child or your 78 year grandma. It doesn't take ANY mapping skill AT ALL. Just like people that play InstaGib in TURBO mode and Low Gravity... SPAM game. It is SO jerk to give this type of maps a good rating based on what SOME people THINK it's a good online play... get a DECENT computer and start a server with DECENT maps. This is pure garbage.
But hey! EPIC might think not! That's why we always see this "great" type of maps in OFFICIAL games (EPIC or NOT).
After all, it's just we poor retards that don't understant the real meaning of life... we, the game companies, the distribuitors, the game reviewers... the TRUE gaming world!
An advice: STOP spam gaming and start playing good things. You and your mental health will DEFINITLY note the diference.
Score is 1 for the bold of the author in releasing such crap these days, with UT2003 out and more...
I pitty you...
