| Rod 04-12-2003 11:53 PM MDT | Rating: 7 | | Good Map,plays well on my machine.The bots know the map and defend well,and they use all the routs to the enemy base except for the cable cars.The only problem I have with it is the lighting,could have been a little more lit up inside,but thats a personal preference. Over all a fun map to play.

I like where the redeemer is, (safe place to hide with the flag when yours has been taken too). Bots don't take all the routes like said above, but they're kind of out of the way anyways. But everything makes up for that. I'm puting it in my map rotation.

EDIT: DO NOT play this map with anything under 10 bots..I played it with 7 bots and me and it took damn near 5 mins just to get ONE cap. despite this..my rating remains the same.

Visually a bit dated and not as atmospheric as I had hoped (the lighting could've used a bit more color in places), but the theme and layout is great. As I've said before, I have a soft spot for classic Unreal-style maps, especially large, open ones like this. CTF-Darkcastles is kind of like Spire Valley meets The Crossing or something like that.

One of my all-time favourite ctf games. The atmosphere is great, game play is challenging and those cable cars are simply lovely.
The skybox is cool, too (although it's an old one used in many other maps), this moment when you come up through the fountain in the enemy base and look right at the full moon above you is simply priceless.
Only thing that keeps from rating it 10 is that the possible ways to get to the enemy base are a bit limited, and bots even ignore one of them (cable cars).
