This map will blow you away. Well, the rockets flying around will blow you away, anyway. DM-8Balls2theWall][ offers basically one style of fighting: Shoot like a wild man.
The place is an arena. There's a ledge above that serves as your second floor/z-axis platform. Narrow beams crisscross above the action where the damage amp is centered at the apex. Floating directly below this beam structure is a platform for the redeemer. You spawn outside the arena, on a ledge, and bump against the exterior of the building, sometimes, as you make your way inside. A fall off the ledge is probably a bad idea; water from hell is waiting below.
The textures gave the place a grungy look: Skaaj textures mostly. The author, Nightshift, spent the extra time to align them, and color-coded portals help guide you.
What can I say about the bots? They were able to get a bead on me without much trouble, and generally messed up the walls with my blood. Rocket launchers dominate the game, but you do have the redeemer, and your enforcer, which helped me out of a few jams. The redeemer requires a warp through space and time, giving you a platform as a vantagepoint to fire the thing off.
The lighting came mainly from large, green lights that overhung the arena floor. A night sky also lit up some areas, outside mostly. You have some music and some wind to listen to as you frag on this 5-8 player map.
