| Couchman 08-09-2005 03:26 PM MDT | Rating: 7.5 | | Ok, ill get to the point, i like the map and the idea, it was good i liked playing it, it had a mix of gameplay and visuals. the weapon selection could have been better, since it was mostly a linear map, i wouldnt have picked the bio rifle and maybe not the rocket launcher, although those little dip ins suited those weapons best, but for the majority i think you were right on, the emitters look good and there was a good blend of static mesh and bsp, overall it was a good map with effort, i liked the roomy feel so i could dodge rockets and such, and i will play it often

Colors are a bit the same all around. same for the lighting and that makes the map boring, try to spice the map up with some color variation. You didnt zone your map off, For basic zoning check out these: (They are for ued 2.0 but are still useable with 3.0) http://www.planetunreal.com/uedlab/basiczoning.htm http://www.planetunreal.com/uedlab/zoneparameters.htm http://www.planetunreal.com/uedlab/tutorials.htm and: http://www.unrealwiki.com/wiki/Map_Optimization most parts are lit without any lightsources (lamps/fires etc) and your sun would cast a lot more shadows, if you used them more, you could make the map feel more alive.
the rocks around the map are a tad repetative, be creative and add more variation here as well :) also, if i where you, ask spoondog if you can use his meshes personally, though im sure the global thank you is enough....
decent map, might be fun online, but not special.

Like the look and theme and lighting suits it very well.
Good amount of static mesh, emitters, sound.
Only bad thing is that it is not zoned
| Turns2Ashes 08-10-2005 02:57 AM MDT | Rating: 4 | | A good effort, but ultimately it's little more than a gigantic cube with some pillars in the middle cutting it into sections. The static mesh use seemed decent (I liked how you could see the water rushing past below) but the lighting was pretty bad - just too bright/saturated and stagnant. The layout lacked valuable things in the low, dangerous areas where they would feel like they naturally belong, and I couldn't find the shock rifle or the lightning gun... :(
