Map DescriptionA map i started to work on 5 month ago. I quited it for a while. And i decided to get back on it last week end. Thinked about the item placment alot to make sure the Flak-Shock-rocket are long enought from each other, and to put some items in the dead area to attrac the players to get there. I played it in TAM (team arena master) Very cool map , i had alot of fun in it and it fitted TAM perfecly. I am getting better , and i hope to bring better work someday.

heyhey!
the rankin influence is pretty clear in here but who cares... i mean, rankin rules so what's wrong with looking for some inspiration there ;)
the map plays pretty well sometimes it's a bit cramped and it would haven been cool if i was able to do a double jump on that one platform but it's just a few units too high :(
the general layout was nice and pretty fast and somehow seemed quite peaceful... i don't know why though ^^
the lighting could use a little variety. it's almost always the same color and no real highlights except for the red fog coming out of one of the vents.
what was really kinda strange was the skybox... at first i thought it was missing a texture because of these orange lines...
and it's strange to see the bottom of the skybox having a sky texture.
now that seems like a lot of negative things - sry for that. i really like the map and i guess i'll play some more rounds now ;)

Well done... ;) Here some things that could be better:
- I am used to the texture and mesh sizes in DM-Rankin, so the first thing I noticed when I was exploring the map is that most of the visual stuff looks too big...
- I agree with Nelson the lighting could have been better and the map is sometimes a bit cramped...
- The skybox fits much better in Illusion than in this one. I don't like too much here although it looks great. Lights with the colour of the skybox inside could have helped...
- Placement is better than other Kantham's maps I played, but I think it could be even better. IMO some items shouldn't be so near the corners... Also, I was much more time running around the LightingGun room, perhaps some spawnpoints should be moved...
- I miss some lifts... :(
- The bots play a good match, but I think they should do some more doublejumps (to get the 100shield for example)
My score: 6.5. I will play some more matches and maybe change to 7...

Good idea G lecter. The item placment is really hard to think about in this map. It took me 2 hours to place them , compare to CTF-Vector that took me 10 minutes. I will put a double jump to alow the bots to get the 100 shield. I will also work on it to add more complexivity in the ''dead rooms''. I don't plan to add lifts. Almost all maps have them anyway. And no no For the lifts.

I Will gather other bug and stuff to ameliorate it.
Mhhh . the map has ben vanished from the newset addition list kinda fast....

Professional players told me they love the item placment, If you think the weapons are not handy then you are playing too much Rocket-Flak fest all in one each time you play. There is 2 link gun and minigun spot, yeah, but if you think (again) that they are not handy, maybe you play against average bots?

And no way this is better than Desp#2 maps, either i don't know what you got against his maps.

Not too bad,coulda been one room smaller,i didn't go for the candycane stripe texture,and make the "floor-ground" of the skybox different ,it is ugly as hell.
Couldn't you add meshes in the skybox to use,i did see those road meshes in ut2004 someware,then mabye find some buildings to break it up.

It felt like there was'nt enough weapons handy enough,and I wish you didnt make it so rankinish.
Otherwise seems like a fairly playable map,slightly ramped a lot,but it has a good feel to it for fraggin.

Windows are nice,thats what redken shoulda been like to see the stuff outside,and the jaggedy poster on the wall looks pretty cool.
Wish it was a tad smaller,more easy to grab weapons a little,seems like all the crappy weapons are more handy.

Better than your other maps so far,I wont touch vctf,but dm best one yet.
Oh and it's better than desp2 map,waaay better.

Whats all this about "a bit cramped",like just because they increased the space for ued doesn't mean people have to make bigass maps,90% of maps out now are way to big to be fun.(for DM)

Well as far as looking or getting weapons fast ,it's not that bad,it's just my first impression while playing.And yes it is waay better than altechomex thing,mabye not as sophisticated of a build,but still better.

Like most of Kantham's maps, I like this one a lot. It seemed to play with no noticable hitches, in terms of flow, fps, or collision.

The visuals were digestable, but some more trim would haev helped a LOT IMO. The emitters also seemed overdone, like there were too many particles. The lighting was Ok, although it didn't havemuch in teh way of varyation that I saw. Definately a solid map. I loom forward ot Kantham's future releases.

Decent map. Good theme. Decent gameplay. Construction appears to be good, particularly item placement.

*edit* I was playing this again last night. In my opinion this is the best map from this mapper so far. Decent DM and worth a download. I'm increasing my rating....
