| XepptizZ 04-09-2004 08:26 AM MDT | Rating: 1 | | Don't download this!!! The name was interesting so I downloaded it. The flag is planteed on two crossiing beams wich have a 16 in width so getting the flag is impossible except when played against novice bots. this is your possible inventory voor Each base!; pulsegun, minigun, ripper, redeemer and o yeh, I almost forgot, the enhanced shockrifle. And this mapper was considered enough to put some ammo for the overkill waepon in his map. the bases are two stores in cilindrel shapes. 3 pathways connect the bases, one in the middle and two on the side. The ones on the side are slightly curved, but the brushes aren't aligned, so that just looks awfull. and the skyzone is a BSP error!!! O and beneath the flags and the beams there is an instant death slime-pool, but the slime is actually flowing!!!
You ain't getting my greets...
And sorry about the typo's.
ÈDIT: Point taken, but how old are you at the moment, because by now you should know this map shouldn't be uploaded. And don't talk back. That's so unpro. My advice: read some tutorials, if you're gonna make maps in the future. By the way I am making a lot of good maps, but I need to finish them up, they look pretty good and they should, becayse I'm mastering the Editor for a long time, but I'll admit the gameply maybe a bit sucky.
And about you're little window, how can you see it's a window when it's blinking white and doing the BSP error thing??? I didn't take the time to check it in the Editor, because I had seen to much of it already!!!
EDIT: Great, the chicken made a run for it. He removed his comment...
| Sicko Teddy 04-10-2004 04:22 PM MDT | | 2 changes !!?? RUUUN for your life!!! HEEEEEEELP!! Please, just make a new map that will be good (or average)visually and very interesting to play. PLEEEEEAAAAAAASE!!!!!

| Deathbliss 09-08-2005 12:14 AM MDT | | {EL}UT-D: Be the better person and don't respond to negative comments with "SCREW U". Nali City is still rough on the newbies, so if you need a more positive atmosphere I recommend Unreal Playground or Map Raider. That said I haven't tried the map, but I'll look at it and see if I can give you some constructive critism. But I urge you to edit your comment - OK?
THE REVIEW: OK, the first thing you need to add is a level screenshot. The next thing is you have to uncheck the boxes next to 2-Sided and Translucent on the textures above each base - this will remove the BSP error. You can't look out at the void. As an alternative you could subtract some space above each of the bases, make a cube off to the side somewhere not touching the level, and place inside that cube a Skyzone Info. This is a basic skybox. Next you change the properties of the textures in your subtracted space above the level to FakeBackdrop (check the box). You could then add some sheets with the window texture you like set to Translucent and 2 sided, or rough out the shape with brushes. The last of the worst issues is the fact you have no pathing in the level - be sure to add Pathnodes in between weapons, playerstarts, and other pickups that aren't in close proximity to each other.
Other issues to address... Don't be messy with your geometrry - it shouldn't protrude into the level. Use the 2D Shape Editor for curving structures. Make sure that the paths to the flag are a minimum of 128 units in width - they should be big enough for two players to cross on. Use smaller beams like you have now for powerups and the like. Speaking of powerups, don't place any near the flag. You don't need a Redeemer in here - too small. Instead use one rocket launcher in a middle area. Make a middle area between the bases to center the level and add variety. Don't include things like the Super Shock Rifle - normal is fine. Texture the walls with layers of repeating tilable textures - liks brickes or metal plating. Don't use a texture with a repetive symbol - place something like that once on the wall for the enterance into that team's flag base (for example). Good job on adding sound and music to your level, for you lava and slime surfaces try texturing and lighting this better. Good job on adding sources for your lights, but use more lighting variety and avoid whitelitghtidus. Also don't forget your coronas (add them, but don't overdo them).
I think that about covers it - you can e-mail me at my site or maybe here (not sure though) if you have any further questions. Oh and here are some links for you:
