From the level intro:
Deep in the depths of Leetani City, an old warehouse is pierced with the screeching cry of a deadly rocket hitting against a decaying wall, a karma fueled body falling downstairs, and the gleeful scream of a legend in the making. Combine your strength, agility and alertness to master this old warehouse in a close and personal 1on1 match!
While the theme feels more industrial than warehouse, this is one map in which to open a can of woop-ass. A UT2003 remake of its lower poly UT brother by the same author, this version has more eyecandy and is less filling for those serious dogs watching their FPS.

Scaled up architecture and additional room for the added mesh trim prevent this map from getting cramps, if anything has more atmosphere than you can shake a stick at. Brush work compliments the textures used and custom meshes further the continuity of design. No particle or emmiter effects are present (maybe for FPS reasons). The movers are well realized and, low and behold, there are no little red lights under the stairs... or old dry kibble bits.

However, there is less room here than inside snoopy's doghouse. If open sniper type maps are your game, leave the frisbee at home, opponents here will be barking in your face. The upside is distances promote the use of the new UT2003 player moves and the layout supports item placement at every turn for the more hungry of players. But beware, those audiable clues/pickups alert keen ears to your every move, making them excellent tourney bait. I would have liked more horizontal stretch through out, a small bone of contention that in no ways degrades this fast paced action map, a map that brings back the UT to UT2003.

Good layout, looks okish. Theme is on the typical warehouse planet, where every meter is covered in warehouse!!111

oh, and the sounds are too quiet. The meshes don't have shadows on them and there are no projectors for the fans.

Excellent layout. The looks are very cleanly done, but I agree with Shadow's comments on the finer detials.

Still, an awesome map, I really like playing it.

Best user-map so far. Layout rocks, too little sound, nice lighting, lil´bit too focused in terms of style. All in all a winner.

nice map but scaling is a little bit to small ... gameplay could have been a bit better, but this map is still the only one which is fun even after being played 100 times ...

A very nice old school map (no, I'm probably never gonna get used to that new open-style DM maps), with some minor inconveniencies, as has already been explained above.

EDIT: After playing this map for a couple of months now I can truly appreciate the proficiency that this map was built with, especially in the area of gameplay. The fact that IMHO no map so far has exceeded his one's gameplay value, tells enough. So it gains one point.

A classic from UT. Although I cant stand the way lighting looks on the new textures, it's just horrible. Layout and theme is top notch though. I'd really like to see servers run this one.

Good geometry and flow, decent lighting. The other commenters have said it all, although I disagree that double jumping makes it too easy to navigate the ledges; this map plays like it was designed for that.

The UT2k3 engine just doesn't make it easy to properly light static meshes, does it? Sigh.

nice map first of the cliffyb set that was really worth it :) and well this is great example of what will come from great map designers in the futuer!

It is not a perfect 10 for the reason that some statics were a tad messy and may even look like they were done in ued. But other than the layout is what counts and that is a 10.

Excellent map! It has great flow, awesome architexture, and good bot support. There's not very much health or armor, which is good for a one-on-one map. The weapons are well placed as are the rest of the items.

We`ve played this map 1on1 for about 2 hours, and it still rocks! Full of trickjumps, nice vertical combat and visuals.

My respect for those german mappers, most of those cool maps are produced by them :)

very well done quake-style map with alot of areas to do mutli-level fighting, and is very easy on the eyes. I love the armor in the middle, makes for some good 1 v 1 battles.

Quake style? mmm i don't think it's quake style. It's a great map to play with 2 or 4 players. I lik it, not only because my fps in this map is around the 100 but also on the many stairs etc where have to look at while moving.

the water under that 'bridge' could be better (move when you pass through it) but that's for a later stage :P

Wot he said. I think the theme could be a bit better, like a lot of UT maps it doesn't feel real. Could do with maybe some outdoor areas, you don't even have to be able to go there, just for eyecandy really and to make it more believable. (Like in DM-Roon for UT1). Sound needs to be much better. Louder and more variety.
Architecture and gameplay is total ownage.

This is the first UT 2003 map I've commented on, mostly because we're enduring the deluge of utter dreck like we did when UT1 came out. Tonnberry is proving himself to be one of the best level designers out there today. DM-1on1-Alpu2 is a fast-paced offering with good item selection and placement, a layout that encourages Z-axis fragging, and it's just big enough to make it possible to retreat temporarily, get yourself in order, and come back for a surprise attack. I really like this level as done for UT 2003, and look forward to more from Tonnberry.

the lighting isn't up to par with the rest of the level. a little diversity would have helped.

download it and put it on your server please. im just a wee tired of fricken BATHROOM-XTR3M3 V2.316 BETA DELTA RELEASE on every server with approximately 36 mutators.

solid map, it's in my map list. nuff said.

I patiently wait for more.

EDIT::::
Ok, I have been playing this map more and more lately. The more I play the more I like it and respect the incredible layout. There are a couple areas that go unused frequently, but the main battle areas for 1on1 are great. I know this map came out in november, and I am a little late to the party, but I havent really gotten into it until now. It's not my favorite looking map, but I would say it is my favorite deathmatch map to play, no doubt.

I upped my rating to 9. great job.

I think hayden's right... in this case. It's a technically good map, but a little uninspired, lacking theme and originality. A generic Deathmatch map, the infamous DavidM style.

hmm. FantasicFactory is back again. the map flows well, but there is not much for the eye, the theme stinks and it too big for 1 on 1. i played it once but i don't see why i would play it again.

Not a flame, this is definetly the first time I've heard the map is too big for 1on1. Most players I talked to think it should be scaled a little bigger in fact because of the unwanted jumptricks in some places that are obviously not intended in the original. I honestly think you should try it again. :)
The theme is not the most creative but the lightings are supreb.

The author, reviewers and admins here say ports require no work, take no talent or skill and deserve zeros... Yet whenever someone gives this map a low score it gets censored (deleted actually)... go figure.

[Admin: Your comment was deleted because as Mr_Prophet says, the conversion is by the same author. In this case, the author can't rip his own work and take credit for something he didn't make in the first place because it is his in the first place.

Now you can update your score or remove this comment, your choice.

BTW, Mr_Prophet and other reviewers get censored too.]

The author, reviewers and admins here say ports require no work, take no talent or skill and deserve zeros...

We aren't saying that, You are saying that. What we said is that it takes no talent or skill to copy and paste the brushes from another person's map and upload the result under your name with no credit to the original author. We call them zeros, because they are stolen, uncredited maps. This is the second time you've argued your deeply flawed logic here, this is a map converted to ut2k3, from the SAME author of the original map, and the map has been very much enhanced with new lighting schemes and static mesh implementation, as well as a gameplay flavor that has been adjusted to accomodate the new game's vastly different play style. You are comparing this map to some lower rung map that is a port of an older UT map, which was not original work from the new author, with inferior results and without credit mentioned to the original creator. If you notice, other redux maps have been made here that do have credit to the original author and have enough original work in them to warrant a reasonable rating. I suggest you rethink your comment stragety. If Tonnberry had ported this map from say, someone else, and failed to credit the original author, the map would have gotten a zero. He IS the original author, and this map is well converted, far better than most conversions found at this site.

Yet whenever someone gives this map a low score it gets censored (deleted actually)... go figure.

Hey look, another statement by you that is compiled of 100% bull****. Go figure.

Comments get deleted for stupid content, such as spamming and incoherent blabber and language some admins would consider crude and foul. You can give a map a low score if you want, just make sure you have a reasonable comment. And yes Mox, even comments that give a map a 10 rating get deleted for stupidity.

[Admin: "language some admins would consider crude and foul"... speaking of which, watch your language. :) ]
