A really great map all around, I've played it back in its beta days, and the few incomplete aspects seem to have been fixed since. Good job!

A Refreshing take on the Deck 16 Theme. I'm not going to pretend that I don't think that people really should move on from remaking Deck 16 - This map has been remade many, many times since it's first Unreal 1 incarnation - but if you must insist on doing another Deck, this is surely the way to do it :) (though some credit surely goes to Bot 40, and his similarly remixed DM-Deck_40 for UT99).
I'm a great fan of the theme here, a sort of ancient industrial site being retaken by nature. The colours in particular (the rusty oranges and natural greens) give this map a wonderful and unique style which i've certainly not seen before. Gameplay wise, the tried and tested guts of the Deck 16 layout are there, but the author has taken great care in twisting them so that whilst it is still a recognisable Deck conversion, a lot of the routes between familiar landmarks are something new. These new additions add to the general flow, with more connections between rooms than the original.
A must download :)

redfist, this is a good redo. Simple.
Don't complain about it running slow when you've only got a 1 GHz pc, or something like that.
Ever compared deck16 to this one? Now compare deck16 to atrodeck. See the difference?
Also, does this one even REMOTELY look EXACTLY the same as the original deck16? No, it doesn't, does it?
Now, do your quake1 maps look exactly the same as the originals? Yes they do, don't they?
Truth hurts, doesn't it?
Ghostwheel, if you are talking about wether quake1 maps are still good: They aren't in ut99. ut99 has 12 weapons, each with an alternate fire. ut99 has a moce called "dodging". ut99 has better graphics. Only these things make quake1 maps copied to ut99 redundant, since they have a totally limited gameplay in comparison to ut99, let alone the graphics which are much more primitive. A lot of time might have been spent making those copies, but that doesn't make them good maps to play ut99 in, and that's the criteria on which they are rated.
Also, graphics DO matter. They are an integral part of any game you play. If you make maps far below the standard of the game which they are made for, they won't get a good rating, period. Even with excellent gameplay.
Mind you, that also goes the other way around, if i have to be fair.
Or would you want to play an ut2k4 map with the looks of wolfenstein 3d?
It's not ALL about gameplay. You could do that back in the 8bit days, but not anymore.

i could tell the last comment was redfist's without even reading the name, lol...
well this map is really nice. there are so many changes to the original layout that you almost forget you're actually in deck16 after all. i especially like the lightingall around: your cold/warm color contrasts are so nice and those swinging cables simply rule and it breathes quite a lot of life into the whole thing. the next thing: the outdoor (or semi-outdoor) parts - it fits the style of this map so d*mn well. it was just pure fun playing this one! i even didn't notice at first sight that you did actually use quite a lot of hourences's stuff or retail stuff in general. that's definitely a + too. okay that's enough for now. going back into the game and btw: sry for commenting this late... normally i don't even look at deck remakes anymore... glad i did this time =)

I have problems with some meshes, they look white coloured... For better gameplay, I prefer Deck17. Anyway, it is a great map based in Deck16][. Good work adding terrain and some new rooms. ----- Edit: Finally I found what's the problem: With 'Settings -> Detail Textures' on, the meshes look white... Another Deck remake, but not a stupid remake. There are some own new ideas. Looks nice and plays well, definitely a keeper... A few thingies: - I miss more z-axis, that's why I don't give a 8... - Framerates drop seriously in terrain areas. - I would have liked to see no teleporters, but there is one more... :/ - I sometimes have trouble using the jumpad (if I move a bit...) - I can't understand why is not possible taking with liftjumps the LightingGun (where there is a Deemer in the original Deck17)

Redfist, your quite popular. I would have to say that if it wasnt for your slow computer and 12 year old brain you probably wouldnt be known as easy, and people would actually like you more.
Redfist please dont give anyone a score anymore, considering the maps you give scores to are far above yours.
Great map, nicely done. always can look up to a mapper such as you.
