Not a bad map, but it is very dark in places. The ramp up to where the rocket launcher is you can barely see other players. Sort out the lighting and this would be well worth playing.

The only thing is, I have now 2 different DM-Gaias on my HD, this and DM-GaiaSE...

[EDIT] The new version is much lighter...a bit too much though. Frame rates in some areas are halved compared to the first version :/

He did an exelent job to it. That's said, some frame rates were low in some area, but this release is much improved in optimization. Good work on the layout.

I really liked this map. It's great to play once you learn the weapon placement properly and the theme is well executed and pretty original. I think it's improved a lot since the beta. The frame rate problems didn't affect me unless I played with the high detail settings (computer 4 years old), and then these weren't so different to some of the stock maps. Only issue I had with this was that one side of the skybox showed a default texture. This is without a doubt due to my graphics card but there still could have been a back-up.
Nevertheless it's staying on my hard drive.

There is alot of work gone into this, I love all the movement and it plays good to boot, particularly with ballistic weapons.

Edit: Slightly lower score as while a little lighter is good, I think it's a tad too bright now, and with more playtime noticed a few little visual niggles that bug me. Still good though.

A step up from a UT99 map given the use of shaders and static meshes (many which are made by the mapper).
Triggered soundFX did not work well IMO and the gerneral build and layout were haphazard. Found the "cars" annoying, even if there was an inordinate amount of effort in implimenting them.

Most of all I did not like the auto load out, please add wep/item pick ups. Best suited for instagib/spamfest servers.

The map could be really fine, there is a lot of effort in it, but it has flaws (that are even more obvious on a nice maps) - no importance order:
- I had to turn ON high world detail for the things I was colliding with - that clearly sucks
- triggered sound (gib?) doesn't fit and even if does - don't use gameplay sound ;-)
- maybe there were optimization improvement, but still it is too low with FPS (and sorry, I did not turn off world detail, when author messed it up with that dust heap)
- I don't like when I look at something and I think "I could jump on that!" and then I fall thru... the palm` WYSIWYG should apply to such a things too :-)))
- I have no comments on pickup placement, because I have editor opened just now and map started from editor plays last man standing :-( whatever ;-)
Other than gameplay things:
- road slopes are too... wierd - they should be smooth - also there is road above road above road... it feels... strange
- scale of the buildings is wierd... too small levels (I mean that building texture)

It's a pity, because map looks good and quite original and also the layout is not plain (I did not test it thoroughly because of other issues). Nice work, but there are some issues and FPS is stopper with my funny rig. ;-)
