Map DescriptionI have fixed the Texture problem, fixed the able to snipe enemy defenders, added some doors so the map is cooler now, added tunnels and the powerups as redeemer and shield belt in hidden places. But still there is a scale problem so the map is too big but it is ok if you give it a chance. The last: Can you find the secret places which the powerups are hidden?

(notice that West's comment is of the older version of the map. If i were him i would give the map like 3.5 - 4 cuz the map is much prettier now.)

Well... for a first map this isn't that bad, I've seen far worse. That doesn't change the fact that it is a first map though, and it shows. There's the glaring errors like misaligned textures and brushes, unsourced lights and primitive shapes galore. The scale is weird, it almost feels like a mini-me map (makes you wonder what the hell is stored in those huge friggin crates). The layout is extremely simplistic, just the two bases separated by a big room. No alternate routes, no z-axis to speak of. The flag rooms are in plain view of each other and you can actually stand next to your own flag and snipe enemy defenders. Weapon placement seems random and there's not enough player starts to accommodate the max number of recommended players. The map is playable but generally quite dull.

I know this is not what you want to hear, Helgso, but don't be put down by it. Keep at it, put more thought into your maps and pay attention to what more experienced mappers are doing. I'm sorry if my feedback is kind of meager but nali city isn't really the best place to submit novice stuff. People here expect high quality and I for one am tired of pointing out the same mistakes over and over. I think you should consider posting beta versions of your maps on some mapmaking forum instead, that way you'll get some valuable input before releasing your work to the public.

And oh, one final thing: FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR PREFERRED DEITY, DON'T ADD THE SUPER SHOCK RIFLE TO MAPS!!!

Yea, I'm with West. To all you newb mappers DONT PUT THE SUPER SHOCK RIFLE IN YOUR MAPS! If players want to play with the weapon they will choose it in the mutators list.... The map is okay looking for a first map. One hint of advice, use the 2d shape editor its your best friend ;) This map is nothing new, the old warehouse full of boxes has been done a hundred times. It was cool at first but unless your going to do something new with the theme dont. Players dont wanna play something that looks exactly the same as a hundred other maps. And west is right if your going to put your map here its a good idea to test your map, A LOT! You should have others test your map as well.

I agree with Evilmrfrank for the most part, particularly about the testing. NaliCity is supposed to be for completed maps. If you continuously upload different versions of the same map as you've been doing, then not only does it create potential version conflicts for people who downloaded it earlier (though that won't be a problem in this case as I doubt you'll ever see a server running this), but it also bumps other people's maps off the Latest Additions list sooner than would happen otherwise. It's not fair to other authors to have a bad map constantly on the list because you keep making minor changes. Testing should be done before release, not after.

If you want help testing your map and tweaking it to reach its fullest potential, then go somewhere that supports uploading beta versions, like UnrealPlayground.com. Your upload will appear at once and will be tagged as a beta so everyone knows it's not a complete map, and then you can use the beta testing forum to get feedback, which is a far more appropriate venue for such a thing than a map's comments section on NC. Once your map has been tested and polished and you don't plan to make any more changes to it, then come upload it to NaliCity.

well put IronBlayde -- to the author, you might want to read some tutorials in the mean time - particularly bot40's architecture tut for starters, and definitely davidm's lighting tutorial - if you really try to learn from those 2 tuts (oh, a good starter bot pathing tut like deathbliss's wouldn't hurt either) you will improve your mapping immensly and afterwards you will realise this map should _never_ have been released. what you learn from these 3 tuts will help you to learn better from the study of other's maps as well (because you will recognize what the tuts teach you are actually common to all quality maps :)
good luck
