CyMek 11-21-2005 06:02 PM MST Rating: 7.5   I'm definately a big fan of Skaarj themed maps, and there are quite a lot of not-so good ones out there. I couldn't tell what to expect out of this from the screenshots, but I loved playing it. The gameplay was somewhat interesting, although arena style gameplay gets old fast for me. The map would have been perfect in iDM or LGi DM situation though, plenty of z axis, some cover but not too much. As is, there are a lot of superpickups, and plenty of weapons and ammo. The theme was what I liked best though. The Unreal skaarj textures were good, and are much better textures than the UT2004 set. These were compimented nicely by a great number of custom skaarj-themed meshes which really impressed me. Unfortunately, the texturesshow their age, and most are plainly pixelated. The lighting is interesting. It never looks overbright, but you can really see it on your weapons in some areas. The skybox was well amde, with some custom planets and nicely done terrain to compliment it. overall, a good map with a few flaws. All of the maps of his I've seen are impressive, but I think this is the best. I'm looking forward to the author's next release! redfist 11-25-2005 03:33 PM MST   you don't think you could do some different screenshots, it's allmost impossible to see any fighting area or what it's like at all. The only thing that makes sense is the lava pic, but I know we arn't gonna be running around in that hehe. EDIT ya whoa, now those look real good man.
