Map DescriptionDeep Blue Space Arena is a space probe studying a nearby black hole. Since it is just inside the event horizon of the hole, it must create massive amounts of energy just to combat the intense gravity field. An anti-grav tube will help you reach the top of the probe. If you dare, you can jump off the side of the probe and land at the very bottom to pickup the U-Damage and Shield belt. if you miss you will never get out of the black holes gravitational pull. A lethal reactor can be activated on the main deck. This is a low grav arena with tons of Z axis. Plays great with the standard weapons or with sniper, rocket launcher, or redeemer matches. includes a custom soundtrack by me:)

@Author: If something is INSIDE the event horizon of a black hole, it is impossible to resist the gravity, even with a endless amount of energy pulling against, it would fall into the singularity soon.
This is not my idea, it's prooved by Stephen Hawking;)

Well this is "unreal". Actually i know the event horizon is where nothing escapes but the shape of my skybox suggests the probe is "inside" the event horizon, so i went with it. Maybe we'll say its inside the "acretion disk". Thanks for commenting.

EDIT: Dark Elf, thanks for your comments. The killer lightning bolts were basically for when lots of people were on the bottom deck mini gunning each other. the anti grav tube does take some getting used to. Mucho thanks for your comments on the music as i wrote that as well.

GenMoKai: ya it is kind of a combination of Fractal, Pyramid, and Space Noxx. Only in cool neon blue!

EDIT2: Thanks Spoondog and GenMoKai for your comments. With the shield/U-Dam combo- i figured if u risked the fall, u deserved a couple powerups. I was afraid people were getting tired of arena maps!

EDIT3: Rakiayn- thanks for commenting. I played 1 bot and had the same problem. I finally found her at the very top on the cap above redeemer. no pathnoding there so she didnt know where to go. probably landed there after jumping with jumpboots.
thanks to redfist too. i dont like pyramid at all , and space noxx only slightly. Fractal is ok for a short time.

EDIT4: thanks to everyone who has taken the time to give a review. I hear alot about the closeness of the powerups. My thinking there was the "king of the hill" idea. originally the tube was the only way up, and the battle to get there would have been funnel map like, so i added in the goodies.

hmm looks like DM-pyramid, only a hightech version ;)
In this map are good points and bad points

Good points
-Cool music ;)
-original
-lots of z-axis fight
-i LOVE the skybox :P
-i LOVE blue ;P

Bad points
-Redeemer a bit easy to get
-teleports look a bit ugly
-lots of ammo at the weapons

in other words, this map is a very original one, few people make maps like Fractal, Pyramid, and Space Noxx
i love it ;)
Give a 8 for it, good luck with other maps

Now this is my kind of map! Good theme and the music is great- sets the mood. While the bots did get stuck here and there, I can't knock it since I know how hard it is to path bots for a map like this. Kinda dark for my taste, might be just me ( ... it does take place inside a black hole... ). Few minor things that bugged me a little- While I love the idea of the panel setting off the Killer electical bolts, they really don't go off where a player (besides a bot) would be standing, even more so after the player knows where they are located. I also had a real hard time trying to travel up the inner gravity lift- the jump boots worked better. Love the whole build of the map and think it works great with about 2-6 players. Great job!

Give this man a medal.

I'm a sucker for arena maps that are executed half decently. I don't care how long it would take to make - it's simple, fun, and different. Let this be the end of generic ramp-and-health-vial DMs!

Anyway, it's good - though some of the weapon placement is a bit questionable (even for a crazy arena map) e.g. I don't think armor/keg, shield/amp need to be right next to each other. Also, I think jump pads are better than teleporters in a map like this, where it all looks the same - teleporters are a bit confusing. Funky skybox!

Well your catchy screenshots finaly dragged me in.I dont go for all of those levels, well, fractal is ok.

But you did good art,and map is not my style but still kinda fun.
My only suggestion is ,make the floors less blue and lit more different intensity, then the 3D -Ness would be more in there.


And are those teles at the ends of the tube or?......
A little too blue, but it's a cool map and well thought up.

it could have had a little more variation in lighting IMO
it was to dark too at some spots,
i played it with one bot,and after a while i didnt saw it again ever, it was like i was playing the map on my own, exept i wasnt,
that bot was probally on the bottem of the pit, not wanting to die
but i was to busy inspecting the map anyway to really play :)
I did played a good match later
anyway, looks good, nice job

First of all the gravity is too low maybe hightening it would help. The lighting shouldn't all be the same colour. I really like the construction of the map it's really good. Bots hold their own pretty well. the item placement is fine ecvept for the powerups they were way too close to each other and how the hell can you get the shield or the damage amp?

i'll have to try this - looks rather different and neat these days and sounds like a fun map so far :)
will d/l and add a score in a bit. btw, those are pretty catchy screenies V, gj :D

The map looks good...the bots though, get stuck at some places...I liked the colour. The map is playable than dm-pyramid. Id give 7 for innovation. keep it up
