| West 10-19-2005 03:03 PM MDT | Rating: 4.5 | | Not bad... but not great either. While the layout's nice with a lot of z-axis and open areas, most places feel too big, plain and boring. This map needs more detail. Moreover, the title is kind of misleading since this does not look anything like an Aztec ruin. "Norwegian Oilrig" or "Chinese Brothel" would have been equally fitting names.

@redfist: yeah... well, I admit that my comment was perhaps not very in-depth and I apologize to the author. However, I didn't know this was a debut map, and it sure didn't strike me as one. If it is, I must say it shows lots of potential and that Evilmrfrank has done a great job. To me it looked like the work of a fairly seasoned mapper who was feeling a little sloppy and uninspired, hence my equally uninspired comment. I won't change my rating though. In its present state this is a 4.5 map to me no matter who made it. One more thing though: it's awfully big for a DM map isn't it? Maybe Evilmrfrank should try creating single player maps instead, as his ideas seem more suited for that format :)

I ain't should'nt be doing this, but WEST, your comments are somtimes too broad. You do analyze things fairly well.
If you look at it from the mappers point of view of what you can gather.Then see if they pulled off what they were trying to do,more or less. (Regardless if the level is good or sloppy)
Just squeez that thinking into your comments and youd be a good reviewer.

| Defeat 10-19-2005 02:28 PM MDT | | >Not bad for your first map. The player count should be raised to 16 because this map has some lager areas and i quite big itself. There in lies it's downfall, the large areas for playing in don't have very much detail. Also some areas aren't properly lite so you will see a black wall and some black textures. More detail is needed throughout the map but the basic outlay seems ok. A well done first map.
