Onslaught is not my favourite gametype and I don't really go for the style of the architecture in this map. That being said, this is one of those maps that makes Onslaught worth playing.......

I can think of at least one commercially released game that would not have failed if it had multiplayer maps of this quality.

Great gameplay and a decent look. Thumbs up.

The first I felt when I loaded the map was the lack of eyecandy. The visuals are just average, there is a lot of work on the geometry and terrain, but the geometry looks like geometry and not like architecture (some places look cool though); and the terrain needs more layers and cliff meshes in a lot of spots... The lighting is completely plain, I think there could have been great effects with shadows here...
Then I started to play and looked at the minimap: ‘Yay! the nodes seem to be very well placed and the link setup may be very interesting with 32 players’ (an alternative linksetup would have been great btw). Added 16 more bots and began the match. Each node is different to the others, there are nodes on terrain, other ones in small structures, in high spots, and the middle ones are minibases... That’s cool. :)
However after playing a long match in this level I think its gameplay has some flaws: The 5 middle nodes, where the action focuses during most of the match, are placed in high spots, and there are some air vehicles (and Mantas) on them. The match becomes a real airfight because ground vehicles are too slow, there is only one ground-way to attack most of the nodes and it’s is too long IMO. I never took a Tank/Paladin just because I knew it wouldn’t be fun: after driving a long way to the node, a fast Cicada/Raptor would be there to destroy my tank in 10 seconds... :(
Also, losing a vehicle in some spots you don’t have more choice than suiciding, some more jumpads could have helped... And teleporters are not my favourite thing, especially when nice lifts or jumpads can be placed instead...

Anyway, don’t get afraid of downloading it. There is a huge work on this one and some interesting ideas. This level deserves everyone’s try... :)

Good map. Large and fun. Like for seemingly all ONS maps I had fps lower than I would have liked but then again, thats me. Recommended download.
