| West 08-31-2005 12:27 PM MDT | | The first map won't run under UT. At all. The error I get is, "Can't find file for package 'DigSh'"
Edit: OK, gotcha. Just need to find my Unreal CD then... :)
| Rob 08-31-2005 08:15 AM MDT | | It's a music from Unreal.
EDIT:Yes, it is in JB-AncientTitan, but you can expect more Unreal music files are required. That's the case with many SP maps.
| Vatcilli zeitchef 08-31-2005 06:41 AM MDT | | Rob your map (JB-ancientitan) used it did it not? Wasn't that one in the ut music file already?

Generally, the first impression is the oldskool Unreal1 feel. I'm quite impressed in the work and technical execution of these maps.
Architecture - there is lots of impressive work here but I can still see a few basic brushes. The complexity of several areas still give a mark in my mind. I can see that the Skaarj-logo seems to have been "over-used" in some areas but it's quite fine. The falling part in architecture would be the some parts of what is supposed to look "natural". There are also some bad brushwork in the generator room but I really liked those big "pumping" thingies in another room.
Lighting - quite average here but at least lights are sourced and some lights have at least coronas. White lights seem to have been over-used at several places though.
Texturing - yet, once more, quite average here. There are some spots with mis-aligned textures but the the author's selection of textures altogether give off the old Unreal 1 feel.
Sounds/Music - ambient sounds are abundant. When the music is out, the ambient sounds make sure the map is alive. The combination of sounds in the maps gives you a good feeling of an Skaarj industrial mine in the middle of work.
Technical/Gameplay - this would probably be the greatest part of the pack. The cyclic and non-linear venturing through-out the map is very unique. It's a system that sits over another which gives off nice execution of gameplay around tha map. Movers are also abundant although the pack lacks some scripted scenes and not enough support using the Universal Translator.
Over-all, nothing new is really offered but the good feeling of playing oldskool games comes back to you. A fine worth-a-download rating of 7 goes for this map. :)
