CTF-Football2004 | | Map Info |
| | File Name | ctf-football2004.zip | Author | STelcontar | Gametype | UT2k4 Capture The Flag | Date Added | 08-17-2005 | File Version | 1.00 | File Size | 2.27 mb | Player Count | 6 - 14 | Map Description | Thanks to Axeman for letting me update his map CTF-Football[axe] . Thanks to John Paul 'Decker' Jones for his original UT creation.
2004 Version Notes: ------------------- This is mainly just a rebuild of CTF-FootballSE to fix lighting issues in UT 2004.
SE Version Notes: ----------------- The original version had issues with the scripted textures displaying the current score/kills/time/etc. It would spam the server's ucc.log file with megabytes of errors. The script is eliminated in this version.
Additional changes: -Sniper window flag drops are now blocked. -FPS increase (Improved zoning, some BSP's converted to static mesh, extra BSPs trimed, terrain replaced, some effects are now set to high detail). -All items are now symmetrical. -Blocking volumes added to reduce snags, fixed collision hull snags. -Improved BSP symmetry. -Custom skyline added. -Assault paths redone, additional translocs added. -Some lighting, texture aligning, and sounds.

| hawkwind 08-17-2005 08:16 PM MDT | | the pics look the same. i will check out the custom stuff you describe, but i already run this (axeman..2k3, no scoreboard)on my server. if you have improved things , i'll let you know
edit:stelcontar i'm sorry, i ought to be ashamed of myself. i have read the entire red book once every year since 1969. darn, there aren't any rocks 'round here big enough to crawl under
the origional layout is fantastic, plays well. i never tire of it. a little open, a little sneaky, a little defense. for a medium sized ctf level, what else you want?

;)
"Strider" was already taken on this site years ago.
Hawkwind:
lol, no big deal :D (most people don't know the connection anyway).
Redfist:
That's a different map. This one was especially popular in UT99 and still has excellent play for UT200x.
| redfist 08-17-2005 02:11 PM MDT | | I hated this map,way back just not my cup of tea at all, boring, too big looked dumb even though the UT version did have some cool deco, but playing it was a real drag. Mabye this one is better.
Oh mabye I am wrong here because the one we played was DM and I think it was called stadium?. anyway rock on................
