Dm-Ladders2004 | | Map Info |
| | File Name | dm-ladders2004.zip | Author | Orion(Co30) | Gametype | UT2k4 Deathmatch | Date Added | 08-14-2005 | File Version | 1.00 | File Size | 4.17 mb | Player Count | 4 - 12 | Map Description | In an unusual move, Liandri commissionned an elite team of engineers and architects to design and build a Tournament arena optimized for Deathmatch games, instead of buying and adapting yet another abandoned building or factory. DM-Ladders is the result of their efforts, a sleek, fast and challenging arena where contestants are tested to the limit of their abilities. | Review Rating | -- | User Rating | 6 | Overall Rating | -- |

| Taboen 08-15-2005 05:53 AM MDT | | When i download it at open the zip it gives a error about file being damaged. For the rest, looks nice.
| hawkwind 08-16-2005 09:08 PM MDT | Rating: 7 | | this was a fun map in 2003, as i recall: " close combat arena where you always have a chance to fight or run. Basically an 8 sided multilevel arena with 8 doors, 8 elevators, 8 portals, and yes 8 stairs."
i'll dwnld and try when i get home, then rate it..
edit: okay, there haven't been a lot of changes since dm-laddersV3. mostly there are some improved visuals in the mid room, and "repairing" of the fatal fall thru meshes that happens sometimes when transfering to 2004 . it would have been better to have those interior/short/ stairs be lifts, but this is called stairs, and darn if they don't all work beautifully. you should share your recipe, 'cause they work, no questions asked. this is an arena, but there are too many weapons; have fewer weapons and set to weapons stay. and there are so many sniping opportunities, and few lightning guns and no sniper rifles. this is 2k4 this map is well worth playing since it always gives you a choice of fighting, or cutting your losses and running. very fun, like DM-ImhoteptsPit, or DM-1on1-Sinpit, but with ladders and transporters a solid 7 since it is no better or worse than it used to be
| Fuzzy Logic 08-15-2005 12:37 PM MDT | Rating: 5.5 | | Like most arenas gameplay is a bit frantic. There's a few too many weapons, it was easy to get a full kit - maybe that was the intention? Redeemer is a bit brutal in a map this size though.
Don't like the weird colours...
| Helper 08-15-2005 07:41 PM MDT | Rating: 5 | | It's ok but it needs to be ironed out.

Ironed out how? Could you be more specific?
For Fuzzy Logic
Yes, that was the intention. Lock and load, and jump straight in the action. =8)
| cUnNiNg_StUnTs 08-15-2005 10:20 PM MDT | Rating: 6.5 | | It's kind of cool, it reminds me of Fractal Reactor combined with a lot of Liandri Central Core from the original UT.
It could have been better if jump pads had been used instead of ladders and tele porters.
The theme is done well and is consistent but still the map just could have been more fun.
