Well, not utterly hopeless. The author has included things like teleports, water zones and movers, just in not a very coherent manner. Sometimes they are a bit dodgy as well, I recommend reading some of the good tutorials available on the web. Look up skyboxes as well! Also you could do with better texturing, it looks quite ugly to have the same texture on walls, floor and ceiling. BTW the default texture is the blue-white one with the circles.
