DM-Morbias_TTF | | Map Info |
| | File Name | dm-morbias_ttf.zip | Author | Orion(Co30) | Gametype | UT2k4 Deathmatch | Date Added | 07-16-2005 | File Version | 1.00 | File Size | 1.94 mb | Player Count | 3 - 8 | Map Description | IMHO, DmMorbias is the best and purest fragfest arena ever created. I hope this modest remake does it some justice. Have fun =8).
Many thanks to Frank'Noz'Bakker, who kindly gave me permission to use the skybox he made for his beautiful CTF-Avali-2k4. | Review Rating | -- | User Rating | 6 | Overall Rating | -- |

Will download and rate soon.
Ok, Downloaded and played. You have some nice touches with the upper central level and lower lifts, not keen on the central statics though as they tend to block too much vision. Central area (lower) feels a little cramped although I like the glass bit.
I'll score this far as morbias remakes go, basicly I like some touches and think the remake has promise but then the over crowding of bulky sm pillars kinda kills things for me.

This was my favorite UT map because of the speed and action. The BOTS kick major ass in this version. I have another remake a UT2003 version that looks and plays better but this one has a better implementation of the redeemer.
| Orion(Co30) 07-17-2005 06:01 PM MDT | | For cUnNiNg_StUnTs, this map goes even further back, to the original Unreal, and the lifts move at exactly the same speed as they did in that version. I know, I've checked. =8)
Redfist, you do not specify the speed of a mover, you specify a start position and an end position, and how long it takes to go from one to the other. Therefore, actual distances don't matter. In the original Morbias the lifts take two seconds to go up or down. In my remake they also take 2 seconds. You have made maps, you should know this.
| redfist 07-17-2005 07:01 PM MDT | | But the speed number is irrelevent, because of the distances,it may be the same speed number, even exact the same speed, but ut04 and or this map may be the wrong ratio from speed to distance..
Ah ok.because the size would HAVE to be bigger than in ut,by default everything would need to be bumped up,but hey,2 seconds is 2 seconds, but the speed setting number, anyway.keep a mappin..........
