| | File Name | ons-anewdawn.zip | Author | [CSi]Si-Borg | Gametype | UT2k4 Onslaught | Date Added | 06-14-2005 | File Version | 1.00 | File Size | 4.87 mb | Player Count | 16 - 32 | Map Description | A new twist on the Epic map "Dawn". I put about two and a half weeks making the changes starting with the already created map for the sake of saving time and keeping the same theme.
It has full bot support and at least 2+ vehicles that spawn at each of the 8 nodes plus an array of vehicles that spawn at the bases including the ever popular Levi.
Something I have never seen in a map before, both bases are seperated by a massive shark tank which can be entered to obtain the Redeemer in the center if one wishes to take such a risk. The bases are also underground and well protected from vehicle fire and attacks from a distance to make gameplay as fair as possible. (You can however slip the Manta into the bases if you try hard enough.)
Ammo pickups vary by node with nearly everything available across the map at one place or another. This includes the Redeemer and Target Painter. | Review Rating | -- | User Rating | 9.5 | Overall Rating | -- |

The map is undergoing considerable changes thanks to the feedback from Titan Onslaught regulars. The changed version will be quite different so I may in fact load it as a different map name.

I can't really rate this map since i don't enjoyed the final part (wich is destorying the core) , but i would tell you got a good potential for the rest. Good job
By the way , 30 fps is bad. we expect 40-70

| Petrus 02-12-2006 05:38 PM MST | Rating: 9 | | One of my favourite Onslaught maps - this one gets played on a regular basis. It works fairly well with the U4E/lowgrav combo too, which is my usual ONS mutator config. Scenery is fantastic for the most part; very immersive, with believable, detailed terrain. The bots also play a very tough game, and perform unusually well with the large ground vehicles.
There are two reasons why it didn't get a 10 from me:-
- The uneven terrain around the holes to drop down into the core rooms can make getting into them very difficult at times, especially with low gravity.
- Although the scenery in the gully/canyon areas is great with lots of trees, the framerate drops like a brick when there are more than two bots in the area. Some more optimisation in the gullies would be good.
Apart from those two points, an awesome map.
