INIQUITOUS 05-05-2005 10:35 AM MDT   i absolutely love Nosense and Solamander and BabylonTemple, i play them everyday online, so im gonna give this one go and let you know what i think, i can see already tho it doesnt look as visually attractive as the 3 i mentioned above.(those 3 own) i just played it a few times and there is some problems i think, over all its a really good attempt, i dont know anything about battle star galatica etcc so i cant coomment on things to do with that. things i liked: the holograhic space ship on the platform was really cool. and the arena is ok except the planet is really poor i think. good noises and sounds where you would expect to hear gas hissing etc.. that was good, i like the execution scene except it would be much better if the ship ataully took off and left the dock rather than just moving a few meters forward.all the texures look ok.(aligned etc) things i didnt like: didnt like the lighting that much, something just didnt feel right. if your in the arena against the last person of the oposite team, if they win they go to jail, they dont get released and therefore dont get there chance to free their team. think thats a bug... i got lost loads in the map layout lol,the jails where really boring too but atleast theres monitors so u can hav a look round. i would of thought the locks would of been in some sort of command area of the ship rather than next to a random ship. oh yo die when u walk up to the hanger outer area to have a look outside, now obviously its space and you cant live in space but if you can just walk out then surely all the oxygen and eveyrthing would get sucke doutt oo in real life. so maybe if it had like a focefield, it would look cool. you cant begin to compare this with the likes of Nosense,Solamander and BabylonTemple but its an ok map if u like Galactica,im not gonna rate it yet because i think you can improve this loads and make it much better. sasquatch 05-08-2005 04:28 PM MDT Rating: 10   FINALY, a Galactica Map from someone. GREAT! I'm a die hard fan of Galactica, new and old. So it wouldn't realy be fare for me to rate this fine map... I'd give it a 10 just for the fact it is named Galactica :-) I Love the Vipers! Great looking launch tubes too! I realy enjoy this map. Jail Break to boot :-) Not many great quality JB maps available. Keep up the Great work on this map. I tend to agree with the prior post comments...just a little. I think some work could be done to improve some lighting. May the Lords of Kobal guide you wisely in any future endeavors of the Galactica themed maps. Alopex 05-08-2005 06:28 AM MDT Rating: 10   I've always wanted to see a spacefighter arena. :) Really nice map with good visuals and a great theme, and an entertaining execution. My only beef with this one is the horrible skybox, with ships and planets looking glued on. I rate this an 8, but i'm giving it a 10 to offset the idiot who gave it a zero. I can only hope to make my maps that well. it gets a 9.5 only because I had some slowing down on it. And I stuck in one spot. but otherwise real nice map. Some things that could have been better: - The lighting could have been a little more spectacular... - I think the hallways are too narrow and it's easy flaking everyone there... - Some more z-axis would have added more layers of fun...
