90Meg on dialup = ERNO!
(One componie owning 100% of the phone lines in austrlia means Australia misses out on having brouadband at reasonable prices. Telstra is raping is all, we hate it but we cant scream).

Screenies look good but I'll want a full map pack for 90Mb... ;)
Edit: OK, I was dumb enough to download it - wish I hadn't. Gameplay is terrible. There are far too many snags and obstructions to encourage any kind of flow. It also suffers from a poor layout. There's an outer ditch running round the whole map which is full of weapons and has easy access to the super sheild and amp. From there you can drop down (fully armed) into the central battle zone where the bots congregate.
Red trees? Yellow clouds? What's all that about? Bleh!
Not worth the wait for it to download. The map unzipped is 145Mb - must be a record!

Rachel (mapper) told me about another map, somthing about using directX 5 (compression with alpha or somthing like that) textures,it is what made that other level big as well, but considering if this is played at all online, people will be waiting to play. Could be an awsome map.
AAAAAGHGH it didnt complete, like the last byte never got shipped, after the whole file,i will try again, man I really don't think a level should be this much.

Nope! None of the custom textures are compressed and there are lots of them. No wonder the zip is 92 meg!

>90MB holy crap! And for only 1 map. The ECE Bonus pack was only like 80MB. Will d/l at school on the T1 and bring home.

To the author:
Since those sceenshots look great, and everyone is talking about texture compression and file size but not elaborating, here is what you need to do: For every custom texture you have included, right click on the texture in Ued and choose DXT1, DXT3, or DXT5 compression. Check out a tutorial on a site like UDN to get the exact info on these compression levels, but DXT1 is the smallest, but lowest quality, and it increases from there. However, you MUST compress all the textures, you will notice no visible change, but the map size should drop to something at least below 20 mb. Good luck, I hope to see this resubmitted soon.

Focus a little less on custom content and focus on gameplay.

Jebidiah, I just wanted to say thank you about the texture compression help...I had no idea you could do that! I got the map down to 40 megs and it actually runs well on my machine now :-) I resubmitted it so it should be up shortly.
