| | File Name | dom-tempoclasm101.zip | Author | Hellscrag2002 | Gametype | UT Domination | Date Added | 04-17-2005 | File Version | 1.01 | File Size | 15.96 mb | Player Count | 8-24 | Map Description | Something has gone seriously wrong with the spacetime continuum!
DOM-TempoClasm is an unorthodox level: it's five point DOM in a map that's big enough to comfortably accommodate between 8 and 24 players.
DOM-TempoClasm is more about the theme(s) than the gameplay; it's just something I REALLY wanted to build. That does not mean that it's not a fun map to play - far from it, but equally it wouldn't classify as a tight CliffyB pretzel-shaped map either. The five control points are quite spread out over the map's four distinct zones, and each one presents a different environment to try and defend. There are plenty of weapons, several spawn points, and the bots are fully pathed. It is, however, NOT a low poly map.
Try the map with three teams. I recommend it! | Review Rating | -- | User Rating | 7.5 | Overall Rating | -- |

| XepptizZ 04-17-2005 04:54 PM MDT | | Whenever I trie to DL it I get an empty zip. Another mirror said "File contains no data" :(
| ]OfC[Saint 04-17-2005 08:18 PM MDT | | Well im not sure what to think of this map. On one hand you have the really cool looking old city area and on other hand there is that big open waste land area which i dont really like. Your lamps and lanterns were really cool man nice job. Another thing the trees you used are ugly as hell in my opinion, not your fault all the trees that come with ut are horrible but you could have used some third party trees.

]OfC[Saint - I actually think that the Down Street section is the weakest implementation of a theme in the map! It had more potential than I brought forward here. At some point I may explore this theme more fully in a tighter map such as a DM, with more z-axis and accessible buildings. As it was this rather large map approaches engine limits and I couldn't have added too much more detail.
Carthage - The train mover got pulled because it was too complex for the engine. Instead, you get a static rail carriage in the station. The Dispatchers control the chiming clock in the Piazza.
redfist - Ghost Skaarj? Wtf? This is meant to be a collision of real-world locations. But whatever... As to framerate, well, the map does come with a health warning in the map description. My PC isn't astronomically powerful and yet it runs the map pretty smoothly. 5½? Well, if you insist.
| GTD-Carthage 04-19-2005 05:59 AM MDT | | Scrag, do you mean this is the map with the supposed-to-be huge train mover and the more than 10 dispatchers?
| redfist 04-19-2005 04:37 PM MDT | Rating: 5.5 | | I don't see whats making the fps go down to ker chunk kerchunk,it doesn't seem that big to kill it nor the strucures.(I didn't look in the editor). However I feel the prob may be somthing todo with the audio, after I quit UT the music kept playing i would say longer than a minute untill it released it back to windows2000 or the graphics i dunno.. I liked how you did the level, size it ok too,I kinda wish you added like some effects per area, like fire in one,or rocks falling,or some ghostly animation from a skaar. And If there is a train mover,I never seen anything, all the sounds are there. Probably could of made it CTF,those ctf players or maps you allways have to run run run run forever to get to thier flag, even back in quake1 2fort4 or ctf maps just make me tired running like that.
All in all pretty cool level ,but the fps killed it for me and it shouldn't run slow, really no fault of yours either.
Yes but shouldn't there be a little collision with "unreal" heh,,kidding. I guess I mean each area have some use of somekind of special effect.
Don't get me wrong, this is pretty cool, above the normal stuff, but between the fps and gameplay,And the fps don't bother me at all,but in the ocean of maps out there it should be considered.I prolly shouldn't post a score, not really a scorable map.
| TheEmperorStalwartUK 04-19-2005 04:21 PM MDT | Rating: 9 | | This is a nice map, though hi-poly and it's big. Nearly all the areas looked great, it felt like a real place and if you like realism maps, get this. The WarpZones were just perfect. In fact I only noticed that there were WarpZones when I opened the map up in the Editor! I also felt that the Down Street underground bit looked a bit bland and empty. Overall it was excellent although I would advise you to have either an excellent PC or turn down your graphics settings.
| Sergeant Todd 04-20-2005 07:53 AM MDT | Rating: 9 | | This map deserves better ratings than it's been getting. Altogether, a fine piece of work like his SP maps. Liked the warpzones, especially the one outside the fence in the terminal area. Nice touch, Hellscrag.
