| mozart 04-12-2005 02:37 AM MDT | Rating: 8 | | I have to admit, I wasn't expecting much out of this map but boy did I get surprised.
What I liked - The water. made for a great obstacle as well as adding to the looks. The whole setting was well done and looks really good - a lot better than the screenies would suggest. The atmosphere is great, the mood is great. Visually it's good looking all the way around. - The map is wide open, it's hard to gain a tactical or positional advantage so you pretty much have to fight it out based on skill. - the weapons are placed so that you have to be paying attention when you pick them up. I like that. - there are sniper positions but it's hard as hell to camp since everything is open. I really like that :) - bots play very well. I will usually play at masterfull against the map default numbers and win by 15 to 18. I won by 1 the first time and 3 the second. - The music. I really like the music selection on this one. It really added a lot to the map.
problems - There are a couple, nothing big though. I found a couple of places where I couldn't enter the water and a spot where I got stuck between the rocks and had to suicide to get out. The bots couldn't seem to find the superweapons or the shields. It's pretty tough to get to the redeemer.
This is great work, with just a few minor tweaks this map would definately be ownage - and it's pretty close now. I'll be keeping this one.

| redfist 04-12-2005 11:50 AM MDT | | Holy crap,if the bots cant get shields then there is somthing crucialy wrong with bot pathing,hell they go for those like crazy. And so many outside maps these days,it must be those vid training manuals,on chapter 1 or something.

Heh, couldn't get onto the middle wooden construction that much, I got shot/died alot..
I think people have worked out how the skybox works maybe redfist and are using it more nowdays, but I can't get the triggers to work on the doors so hey!..

Mentioned botpathing problems. And there are no blocking volumes, which means you can swim to the other island, which is obvious not meant to be.
Played invasion here, like to play that on watery levels.
