I got nothing to do for a few minutes so...
1st - you should have 1 or more of the following to play this map; -translocator -quadjump -time -instavape (zoom instavape is better)
I played for about a half hour with a 50 frag limit and 5 bots. not too bad but still long.
the map is ok visually, kinda dark and mostly just plain mountain features, nothing fancy. weapons are sparse, ammo is ok.
what I liked - great sniper map. - great for lots of players. I can see this being popular for online play. - bots played well.
what I would like to have seen - lots of room in there, maybe a manta? - more detail, for as big as this is there are really only a couple of areas where the action takes place. - sniper positions in the tower would be great. like it is there aren't even any windows. maybe if you had windows you could break out and shoot from?
what I didn't like - fell in a chasm and didn't die. couldn't get out so I had to beat myself to death with a sheild gun. (and since I had regen on that took a while) - kinda plain, the tower is about the only thing that is detailed. - I never found a lightning gun or a sniper rifle. these would have been ideal.
I'd call it average and give it a 5. with a little work it could easily become a 7.

Bots not move round map that much but they suprise u sometimes
Very laggy with only 5 bots,I put settings on low and 800-600 res but the same probs
Like the tower thing,rate 5 for lag and dark chasm

| Vorix 04-01-2005 03:39 AM MST | | Thanks for the comments guys. I've just uploaded version 2, which is called DM-RIPPLETOWER2..should be downloadable by tomorrow I hope. I've fixed the chasm death problem, I honestly thought I'd already fixed it so I went home (from the net cafe) and tried it and sure enough I was alive in the hole.. what a dumb#ss! Anyway, the fall volume is now at about 400 lifepoints minus, so no problemo- you fall you die!
Ah, I lightened the screenshots (sorry) to show what it's meant to look like if you had my spankin' new monitor (coz the ones at the net cafe are old and a bit dim)- if you adjust the gamma it should be fine.
P.S. I'm glad you think it's huge! (that sounds strangely wrong, doesn't it?....:) )

This map is basicaly an areana with a big pit in the middle and some meshes sticking out. DM action was not fun. Oh and why are the lightposts not stuck in the ground?
it would be waaay better if you put some bridges accros the revine like 3 real wide ones.It would improve this map A LOT,instead of running around a rat trap round and round.Fix er up a little bit and youl have a pretty cool map.

Very original and interesting, but your work with the terrain was pretty bad. seemed to noobish compared to the work you did on the tower. The weapon and item placement felt very ackward. I would have liked to see some variation in the lighting. I think redfist rating is too low and too harsh. There is definetly promise with this mapper which is evident with the architecture.
While i didn't like the terrain or lighnting or the weapon and item placement. I feel this map has the potential to a lot better if the layout is better implemented.
Also, i didn't have any problems with frame rate. I was getting a constant 40 with 32 bots.

Yes large bridges could be better and I liked the tower(s) but found it difficult negotiating around the map sometimes.
The bots are okay but yeh they fight in 1 or 2 areas most of the time.
I gave a rate of 6 as it seems to be a work in progress.

Hey mozart,Strange love/ICTF/sniper ass map lover, dm don't suport manta or any other vehicles. And the Vaporgun is the instagib , and inside the editor , you can't put the zoom version on weapon bases.
Man , the tower is soo interesting , exelent work man , the tower looks even better than somme epic work
Here , the gameplay is terrible , because the weapon placment suck , i am sorry to say this . Also having an instagib gun inside a DM map is a No-no.
There is a mutator that alow you to put it on. So please , if you plan to make another map , make the gameplay good , your map could even win the MSUC , with the architecture of your work .

It could have been playable as it is, however, the super shock dominates the map. Poor choice.
