This is what I came up with. Wide open mape with a lot of places to camp. Note: This is a sniper/camper map. Only weapons are sniper rifles and the redeemer for those snipers that use deemers. There could be a high polycount, so a warning to those who refuse to update their systems. You will probably experience lag. All custom textures and sounds are embedded to the map. This way I didn't have to have a bunch of files for you to install. | Review Rating | 4.5 | User Rating | 7.5 | Overall Rating | 5.5 |

REVIEWER: Gnome and Sapper DATE: Monday, August 8th, 2005 TODAY'S MAP WAS PICKED BY: Gnome
DM-UnrealCasino by :[lol]:Squid75
AWE: 1.5 BUILD: 2.0 CAST: 1.0
RECOMMENDED NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 16 (Seriously, this map is freakin' huge) RECOMMENDED GAME TYPE: DM or TDM ADRENALINE RATING: 2/5
GNOME: Did you win anything on the slots? SAPPER: No. I think they're rigged. Everytime I pulled, the same stupid set of losing lemons and cherries came up. How'd you do on the poker tables? GNOME: Not so good either. The dealer kept giving me the evil eye until the security guards came over and said I was dressed inappropriately. SAPPER: So the bastards wouldn't let you wear your Hawaiian shirt? GNOME: Guess not. It's okay though. I wasn't actually planning on ever returning to this casino anyway.
THE AWE FACTOR SAPPER: It should be noted right here and right now that Gnome and I will NEVER again review a 'minime' map. This thing would have had a whole lot more potential if the laughing squid had thought to fully build a casino on a standard scale. I mean he's got all the basic looks down. All he needs to do as add a lobby, some more slots and tables, maybe a bar and a kitchen and a second floor bed and breakfast. GNOME: I would have to say that this map would have been awesome if it were normal scale and bigger as Sapper suggested. I loved the carpet though. The casino features for the most part were fairly nicely done. The only texture misalignments I could find were with the stacks of casino chips. Overall, nicely done.
THE BUILD SAPPER: No music? What, the casino couldn't afford to pay some off the street band to come in and play jingle balls? Come on! GNOME: Warning: High poly count, especially when you're upstairs or in a sniper box looking down upon what could be interpreted as 1.5 billion cubic feet of open space. Low end users will more than likely experience lag. High end users may even experience minor lag. Although the teleports and lifts functioned adequately and some sound was included, this map is seriously lacking in mood. Brushes were nicely built and well used and there were no BSP errors or HOMs to ruin our day. SAPPER: That's right. The bots were more than qualified to ruin our day.
THE CAST SAPPER: So how many people do you figure got hit with the stupid stick while this map was being made? GNOME: I would imagine that due to the sheer massive size of the map, bot-pathing presented a problem, just as poly counts in a wide open space presented problems with lag. But again, you'd want to play this map with lots of players as frags would be quite low given the map's size. SAPPER: So what you're saying is that you wouldn't play it online with a whole bunch of people, and you wouldn't play a bot match because when bots aren't running around looking for ammo, they're staring at a wall, right? GNOME: Also, and this is just my own personal opinion here, I don't like playing maps that are depended on using the translocator. I'm not sure if this is a feature of all minime type maps, but I think it a terrible way to play a game.
OVERALL GNOME: Overall, you might like this map if you're into active sniping. Honestly, this is not the ideal sniping map to sit in one place and shoot at anyone who happens to come into your sights. SAPPER: Overall, this map is crap. GNOME: Sapper, do you always have to include some sort of rhyme into all your reviews? SAPPER: Yes. It has to be done. There's no way around it. GNOME: I see. Well, that's it for today. See y'all tomorrow. |

| XepptizZ 03-23-2005 06:49 PM MST | | Looks like a nice and decent snipermap with a pretty original theme, it's well executed, but I'm no sniper so no score.
| LiquidSteel 06-20-2005 02:09 PM MDT | Rating: 9 | | Great sniping map. Another one of those "I am tiny" maps. I happen to like these maps, alot. The bots here move around pretty good. It even has the sounds of a real casino. It's a bit dark in spots, but I think the author wanted it to be dark on the floor behind the machines. Keep up the good work.
| Commander2 08-15-2005 12:07 AM MDT | Rating: 6 | | Bler, This map was mediocre. I had no idea it was a mini-me map untill I actually played it. when i spawned and saw a gigantic CHAIR, i quickly minimized to check the review. That'll teach me....
Not too fond of giant maps, they are OK online, but suckage for botmatches. the bots like to hold position a lot, maybe move around like every 5 MINUTES.
6/10.
