DM-(NYA)Infinity_City | | Map Info |
| | File Name | dm-nya-infinity_city.zip | Author | Miguel Paredes | Gametype | UT Deathmatch | Date Added | 03-18-2005 | File Version | 1.00 | File Size | 2.63 mb | Player Count | 16 | Map Description | A city map, for a change.
Big river in the midle, few buildings around and some "city datails" in the midle.
Bright map with lots of details. This map has some great places to fight still some players still prefer siting behind the elevator entry the whole fuging match.
The high places, and there are a lot, are very good for camping since u have a perfect vision of all the city. In the bottom there are also some very well desing areas to shoot.
The map name was given by NYA-Silk an i still dont know where the hell she got this name from...
Also there are 2 redemers that can be seen from all over the city but no one can gets them. Wonder why :)
***************NOTE 1 *************** Most my maps, use a big (10 megas) texture pack with 3 files: Ribeira1.utx, Ribeira2.utx and Ribeira3.utx
To save host resources i DO NOT UPLOAD those files with the map pack.
You have to download it ONCE and then u are ok with all my maps.
Get the texture at http://nya-mike.com/ut/download.php?view.123 (copy the url and open it with any browser)
***************NOTE 2 *************** This is a SNIPER MAP (as all my maps). It is made for the zark sniper mod and to be played as TDM (pref. online).
This said, only get the map if u intend to play it as TDM, with some sniper rifle (zark, prosniper, etc) and with teleport.
There is no bot path at all. No weapon but Sniper Rifle, no ammo but bullet pack. Very high place that u cant go in without the teleport. | Review Rating | -- | User Rating | 7.5 | Overall Rating | -- |

| ]OfC[Saint 03-18-2005 06:58 PM MST | Rating: 7.5 | | I've had many great matches on this one.
| Manticore 03-21-2005 02:50 AM MST | Rating: 4.5 | | Please include all your textures in the map file(s)....
Additional comment to the mapper: ..... and I did read the readme files before downloading.
My point is that a map submitted without the necessary files to run it is incomplete and unfinished product. When product is delivered it should work straight out of the box without needing further intervention by the end user.
This could have been avoided by putting them all into a mappack with the necessary texture files.
Additional reply: You are mistaken. I haven't commented on every one of the maps you have left here; only three of them.
Quite frankly if they were good maps the extra trouble you have to go to downloading multiple megabytes of average textures would be worth it. Unfortunately they are not good maps and the time and expense is not worth it. You couldn't even bother finishing the map by mylevel packaging the textures or bot pathing the map.
I suppose that's the difference between a professional and a rank amateur....
| Miguel Paredes 03-20-2005 09:10 PM MST | | please read the readme.txt or the map description before posting comments about missing files.
--------- edit--------
1st when u have a message to me, please use an email or some other proper way. This is a coment area.
2nd if u read the "warning" about the missing files BEFORE u download the map, and u still come here whine, u sure are not a very smart person.
3rd this issue about the missing files was discussed in a litle irc chat with me and a NC admin. To save resources (disk space) he fully understand. Only thing he said was to put some warning, like i did.
4th this is not produt that i am selling. This is a ut map that i did and u can or can not get it.
That "incomplet box crap" u keep talking about in all the coments u make in every single map i uploaded, is geting anoying. This is free stuff. You like it - download and play it. If you dont like it, dont get it. What part you dont understand?
| dreddtrw 03-22-2005 09:57 AM MST | Rating: 9 | | I have played many great games online on this map! Great for snipers, but not limited to snipers.
| Adamo 07-12-2005 12:13 PM MDT | Rating: 6 | | Nice map!! Buldings look's COOL!! but bots don't have any path.Try some new trees like Tobio i have it in my map :)Good luck!!
| LiquidSteel 07-12-2005 05:51 PM MDT | Rating: 7.5 | | I really like this map, except for two things. How the heck do you get the redeemers, and how the heck do you get out of the water? This is a fun map, with 16 bots. There are a few places (besides the deemers) that I can't get too, yet.
I did read the read me file and went and got the utx files needed. It would be nice in the future if it was all together, but since THE MAPPER DID PUT THIS INFORMATION IN THE READ ME FILE, I won't ding him for this.
But I do like this map and I hope new map makers take a few notes from this map.
| Denny 07-12-2005 07:26 PM MDT | | You should put some nodes in these maps so us bot folks can play em. Still an alright map though, but put those bots in there, lol. :P
| Arch-E-Tech 07-13-2005 12:39 AM MDT | | Nothing wrong with sniper maps, people just gotta understand that theses maps cant be played without the proper mods and are only for multi-player. So dont give a zero if you dont understand the purpose of the map.
| EvilSwanky 07-13-2005 04:33 PM MDT | | Funny as a whole lot of sniper players do the same to regular maps. :P
Hm yeah city looks nice but would prolly be better with the right lighting. no rating cause of the gamestyle.
| fluffymike 07-14-2005 05:29 AM MDT | Rating: 9 | | You're picking your best to put here right mapper LOL Another great Trofa map that plays well as DM (ie not just TDM) and I've had many good games on it.
And you know what, after downloading one of your maps, I really wouldn't want to have to download the texture files etc everytime I wanted to download another - you did right not including them, and tbh there are some real lame people making comments here.
| redfist 07-14-2005 03:12 PM MDT | | I might as well chime in here, when you want people to play your map,or have it be run as servers more. It's best to put ALL the textures in "Mylevel" not stock .utx files. But even then using stock utx files for a map, then, lets say you only use one or two textures ,but it's a 10 meg file to open all for just those. Also it is good to have the textures,he posted a download link so WTF.
I would include any texture for faster loading maps wich isn't stock to be put in "MyLevel",it's better for the server dudes,players,56k ers.
It's a wise thing to do,more or less, looking at it from the users point of view, but having the file is superior.
One thing though,ALL maps need pathnoding, online map or not,it doesnt add much overhead to a map and still be good online.A level is not done, until it's pathed.
i will check out your level,I got Halife2,I been checking it out, pretty cool,it's got nice rendered water in that game.
