The map is pretty small and is probably best suited to 1/1 or 2/2. A good attempt to do something with the visuals which generally have a clean but industrial look. More work on the lighting may have helped in the atmosphere department.....

Edit to IndySkyz:

Just in case you missed it the comment rules say this:

"3) Post on topic. Comment on the map and not on each other. Do not post with irrelevant questions or discussions. We are not interested in your life, problems, or opinions about someone or something else.

6) The entirety of this 'Terms and Conditions of Use' applies to all registered users.

Effects of Failure to Comply
Failure to comply with any Terms and Conditions may result with the user being subject to any of the following:

- deletion or moderation of the posted comment (with or without warning).
- a formal warning.
- temporary or permanent state of read only.
- temporary or permanent ban.

Any decision made by NaliCity administrators with regards a user's failure to comply will be final and all cases will be considered individually upon their merits."

In other words; the opinions of other users, no matter what you think of their opinions, are none of your business. I don't go commenting on your opinions, stay the hell out of mine.......

Additional to IndySkyz: Your response proves my point entirely.

Additional (again): Which means you're in breach of the terms and conditions........ but what is more important to me is that you couldn't reply to my comment without stooping to insults; which is just-plain-sad.....

Yeah, the lighting seems a bit too messy. There's still opportunity for the author for this. They look a bit too bright and some of the lights blend into the radius of other light actors creating a sort of 'messy white' cast.

[EDIT to IndySkyz]
My rates are based on my own rating scheme.
-Lighting
-Texturing
-Architecture (scale of good decoratives and lay-out)
-Ambience (sounds and stuff)
-Gameplay
-Music

and...

-Special Effects if there are any.

and finally...

-OVERALL RATING which is made of by all fields above.

I do not understand what these 2 before me rate maps based on, unless its solely the amount of details, not to knock the author, but to be honest about the map based on its playability in UT all I can say is this.

1: Lighting is too bright and too white.
2: no map thats as small as this, with no custom music should be over 5 mgs unzipped.
3: the fancy decorations cover with fencing may look cool but is a strain on the eyes(most likely due to the overly bright lighting)
4: all that aside tho, the map has very little z-axis, dead-end spots with weps, and no flow what-so-ever.

Please, and I cant stress this enough, when mapping always keep the cool ideas for look and atmosphere as your last icing on the cake, start your map with a good layout that has lots of z-axis play and multiple routes to take from anypoint in map if possible, then and only then put the icing on the cake.

Sorry to have to rate your map low but to help people looking for good maps too PLAY, I must say this map is not good even for 1v1.

The good points are the mapper shows promise in his ability to use Ued and make nice looking stuff.

The bad is that he does'nt seem to have the idea of what makes a good DM-map for the players of the game.

EDIT to MANTICORE: Man dude you have alot of hostility, I was commenting on the subject at hand which was the map, and I was pointing out the people like you(or anyone else) who rate maps solely on looks, over inflate the scores for map which really aint worth the download for people who want maps that are fun to play, I did not attack your comment or even say it was wrong, just that it is based on looks and detail alone.

Dont be a H80r. A suggestion for you if you want others who come to post after you to "Stay the hell out of mine" how about just not commenting at all. The comments of those who posted on a map before me are part of what I base my map comments on, sorry but true.

EDIT 2:Hmmm, well then admins I guess you need to ban me, my comments on a "MAP" must and always will include the comments of others made before me, I comment for both the author and the downloader, and if IMO if others scores before me seem to be scewing the score one way or the other, I need to comment on that so others downloading either will be able to see it from all sides. If anyone is breaking the rules here I'd say its you Manticore, by forcing me to comment back to your silliness. So I guess we both should be banned right.

Final EDIT: Do any of you play the maps you download? a 2.5 is ridiculous, no its not from a players stand point, how cool a map looks like I said is icing on the cake, the map is boring to play which makes it a 2.5 at best no matter how cool it looks, and yes I guess I'm usin the Redfist rating scale, seems like a good scale to use unless you view UT maps as artwork and not maps to play UT in. (these comments are for those who think outside the box) Nuff said.

very nice map, clean, well excecuted. lots of good, unique construction with the hexagon, two sided windows, the fantastic sliding door, the water under the grate in the floor. the lighting also is well done, but just has too many different types side by side. what this map needs mostly is size, to space out all the different ideas used here. the size is also an issue with the number of weapons available. this would have been better with just the shock and RL, or any other 2 that one might like.
one of the fence meshes isn't solid, and its a bit weird sinking into it as you back up against the wall.
take these ideas or ones like them and run with it, in something 4-6 times this size. it would be great.

edit: normally i don't comment on the review scheme and how others apply it, but to me a 2.5 says crappy textures, crappy lighting, crappy layout, zero gameplay, bots that won't do diddly squat, and basically minimal effort on the part of the author.
you can argue whether this deserves, say 4.5-7 , but lets not be silly here. i've seen some 1-3 maps posted here, and this is not one of them.
Yrageal has done some great stuff here with the ut graphics. personally, i cann't wait to see what else he can do.

Heh...well good, plus you got to remember ,the sites keep getting higher now too.UT ,unreal is getting old now,so the standards go up,but it's still got to play good,or it wont get played.

Well I didn't really catch what indy up there said was all that bad or wrong.(about the map)
Seems I read his post first, didn't think a thing of it,I come back and see all this stuff on-about his post.

WTF....OVER ...

Definitely not a 2.5. FrogTownStump is a 2.5...This map looks fairly decent, it provided a challenging botmatch and it was low-poly, unlike a lot of maps nowadays. I could see myself playing this one again...
