Edit: The author was paid for this map, it's not like it's a community released map and then the author has had his work ripped without giving permission. You don't ask to use the textures from ONS-Torlan or DM-Rankin do you?
It's obvious the new "author" shouldn't be given high marks for the build of the map but on the other hand giving it 0 isn't fair. Poor build on a map knocks a couple marks off for me because it's annoying when you play. When I look at the comments I'd like to see a mark reflecting how good the map is. If this is a perfect vCTF map I want it to have a 10, not rated a 3.

Yes, the author of the vCTF version has not done much for this map, but this should be regarded more as a compliment to Hourences' incredible job on the original ONS version of it, than it is to argument your rating. If I were Hourences, I would be insulted by a 0.0 for a conversion of my map. IMO this map looks awesome, it has the well known Hourences flavour :) With some boostjumps for vehicles, and interesting theme, this map can very well act as vCTF. IMO this map surpasses most of the current 'own design' vCTF maps in both visuals and gameplay. I'm rating it a 8, but none of the points goes to the author that converted this. The author does, however, receive my thanks for sticking his neck out and porting this map.
EDIT: first off, I rated Souvenir lower, because it had litte to nothing to do with Adara, it used like 1 texture or something from one of the Adara packages. Secondly, I rate the map on it's gameplay, you really must've missed me clearly stating that none of the 8 points I give it go to the person who ported the map, but to the gameplay/visuals the map has to offer. If a very good map in whatever gametype can be very good for another gametype, then why the bitching about the porting author not having done much? If a map has great gameplay, even when it's ported, I'll rate it accordingly, you're just bashing this map because either you didn't play and want to flame scottyhotty for his porting, or you curse scottyhotty for not having the same bright idea of porting this great map. Read my post carefully next time before giving hanus remarks about me rating some other map lower >:(
EDIT2: Me rating the map an 8 has nothing to do with you rating it a 0. I think this map deserves an 8, I give it an 8. If I were to cover your rating up I'd have to give a 15 at least.

Well I worked longer on ONE of my q1 maps,than all the time it took you for all of yours to make,but you posted zeros,just like now on this map.

I think map-ports shouldn't be rated, but everyone has right to put an opinion, you should not put zeros just to destroy the other ratings and have a better score in your work... Edit: OK, but this is a place to comment the map, not the author's work. Is the gameplay good? Are the visuals good? Have you tried it??? I keep thinking you should not have rated this with a zero... --- For the map, works very fine in VCTF, with those different z-levels and jump-ramps. It is well converted adding some new vehicles and jumpads... - It is a little big for my liking. I would have liked to see 1-2 team vehicles near the enemy flag. Is too big for pedestrians in my opinion... - The caves in the sides are not really useful (I get the tank with flying vehicles). - Some playerstarts are a little near the flag. - Again, I have to say the AI for VCTF is not very good. Epic did not do a good work in it... I would have liked to see the bots taking all the different paths and swithching them... Worth the download...

Nah. Not me. I rate for how overall fun it is, graphics, gameplay, etc. Regardless of weather it was a cheap conversion of a map. Putting "2 flags" in a map does not make my PC crash, set on fire, on make me want to scratch my eyes out thus giving it a 0.
Sure, I don't agree with people releasing stuff like this at ALL, and I do wish the author would release some original work, or a much better conversion, but that's not my problem.
Weather it took 5 minutes or 5 month, I had a lot of fun, and think it deserves a 7.5 (Higher for ONS).

If how hard a person works on a Map is the consideration, then many 10s should be divied out as some work their butts off. It doesn't work that way though as many work very hard, but still do things wrong or make poor choices in other areas.
I think the scoring philosophy between various posters differs significantly. You have those giving scores based on how good the Map is and you have those giving scores as a reward to the Mappers themselves. Myself, and probably most others, tend to fall in the middle, basing scores on how good the Map is and how good the Mapper is.
It seems ok to me to subtract some points based upon the lack of originality, but to give a "0" is way off base. "0" should be "Map doesn't work" or Map is a virus that deleted my pron!". Many people use the scores as a way to decide what Maps are worth Playing, not as a way to judge the worthiness of the Mapper.
All my opinion.
