I like your screenshot. "No level screenshot available" Funny guy.

(In other words, please add a screenshot so people know what your map looks like)

As it's your first map I won't pull you to pieces ;) There are way too many open spaces. You need to create more points of interest, scale things down a bit. What is that ramp/elevated walkway for? It goes nowhere. That upper ledge just creates a sniper spamfest.

Fragging is all a bit too easy here, gameplay needs to be much harder than this. A good first try though.

LMAO @ Fuzzy Logic, I won't tear your map apart... seriously though... to the author: have you EVER played any DM map (retail or custom) at all? Maybe, if you looked at the obviously way better examples, you can learn something from it. Keep trying, I won't rate it since the others have made clear that this kind of map doesn't really appeal to anyone in the community :)

Nillian, hey thx for the kind words ;) and yes you are correct this map is the cumulation of about 16hrs over three days (mostly saturday). The general layout of the map is all mine. I did use a tutorial to get me started but once I grabbed the basic concept I took off running (lol which probabally was not a good thing... the curse of add) I did try to run with roshi's info but alas to no avail. grrr.... If you would be willing to spend some time helping me that would be Very Cool. I use msn and skype and am running on EST Ohio US. I checked out ur site and saw ur email but didnt want to send anything there without ur ok

Finally was able to Download the map. Seems that this site is slipping.

And yes you can put vehicles in.

It's possible to write a game rule to allow vehicles in a deathmatch game. I used this in one of my example maps somewhere, but the steps are pretty simple:

1. In the actor class browser, find Info->LevelGameRules, right click and pick New...

2. Set the package to MyLevel, and name the class whatever you want.

3. Paste the following code at the end of the code window that pops UP: Do not add the "===Code===" Just the stuff inside the quotes.

===Code===

"function UpdateGame(GameInfo G)
{
Super.UpdateGame(G);

G.bAllowVehicles = true;
}"

4. Hit the compile changed... button.
5. Place your new LevelGameRules actor somewhere in the map.

6. Place a DestroyableObjective somewhere in the map. Set it up so that players can't/won't bother interacting with it...you have to have a GameObjective somewhere in the map, but it doesn't matter if the players ever actually use it.

7. Look for the VCTF Mapping thread, and use one of the vehicle factories (mine or SuperApe's) to place team-neutral vehicles in your map.

AND I know why your images did not show... Please submitt JPG formatted images. Not BMP's

First of all, don't worry about what other people have said. They are reviewing the map in the same way that they would review a map from someone like Hourences or whoever. For a first map, considering that you said it took you about 2-3 days (if I've understood you correctly) then I'm impressed. You show good potential. Hell within 3 days of learning the editor I could still only make cubes with a couple of hallways connecting them! You should definitely keep up the mapping, as I can see you have grasped the basic concepts well. As for converting this to CTF with vehicles, and adding terrain, I can help you on both topics if you would like. Put a comment in here if you would like to talk more and I'll see about giving you my E-mail address or something :-)

PS Was this the result of a tutorial you followed? Or is it all your own work?

Anyway, keep it up, I see great things to come...

BIGVIPER:: That email address is my MSN address so add me to MSN and we'll talk :-) or just mail me or whatever
