Map DescriptionMy submission for the CTC Vol.2 map-pack (released Dec 23, 2004) This zip contains the same map but has an updated readme file. It is available now for anyone who wants to have a stand-alone copy of the map, for whatever reason. The original "DeadlyWorship" map was developed for the ThunderStrike 400 poly mapping contest held Aug-Sep 2004 at UP. This CTC version is a bigger map and better gameplay (imo) than the contest map. Good for 4-8 player DM, TDM, Sniper, Insta... Bots are pretty tough in this map ;) ENJOY!

Looks great, lags a here and there on my poor littl o' rig. Dunno why you've made the firefly's going splish, splash in the lava, coz it really pulls the fps down I think.

Hmm, yeah, my rig really is poor. 700 mghrtz, hope i get a new one soon. Well this fits nice in the walkin around, tourist map in my list.I actually do have a 1.1 gighz notebook, but it fries my fingers after a while and then goes bzzz and slowly dies when checkin maps on that thing. Only the freezer can quikly revive him in that case.

haha xep, sorry :) it has no effect on my "old" P4 system, so i didn't think about it - i get around 60fps most scenes with 4 bots which i consider ok - the "older" p3 system gets around 40 fps in the same places... i just didn't have the heart to occlude some scenes, ex. looking back from the castle ramp -- i mean i had a low arch thingy at the ramp base (which cut polys) but it made no sense :/ besides, it was a small hit and didn't lag the P4 so i let it be -- i guess some maps want to be the way are, for better or
worse... maybe if i get enough complaints i'll make an "old-rig-friendly" SE, LOL :)

derdak - thx man :) heh ich's around the map are on purpose, profet gave me a slap already, lol! but there was once a gate, jus kept disappearing so i deleted :)
tgm79 - thx - hmm, i only get the one lag already said... what's your rig? fyi castle inspired by gravensteen, except brown :) cathedral is Italian Romanesque 11th century (well, sort of =P ShaneChurch and NaliCastle tex was a constraint :)

edit - hey madscientist :) that's a pretty low FR! whats your rig and gpu? lowest i hit was 30 fps on a p3-1g/gf2 and 50 FPS on a p4-1.8/9800pro. normal average on the p4 was 80-100 fps. no beta testers reported FRs that low for any reason... anyways, i made a leaner SE build but haven't got around to releasing it yet...

The author must have been under time pressure to finish {If only we could go into some of the buildings, like the cathedral....ah well}...No lag problems for me and my PC isn't SOA (Athlon 1GB w/ nForce2 card). FragNbrag did a great job of creating atmosphere in this map and it flows good. Best map in the pack.

Nice map but i have to report some things i saw :
the barrels and woodenbox didn't explode properly ( or maybe it just me ) . i found a bsp error on a ramp which are up to the eightball . layout is a little disapointing at first but it's good . lightning and bruswork are well implemented and some good details added here and here . Oups , i forgot to mention a invisible wall in the side of the map ( just want to fire on a barrel and i kill myself !-lol- )
apart these little things , its a good job !

It is above average but doesn’t stand out very much on its own. Heavy overusing of coronas – I think they are one of the main reasons for the noticeable lag. On one spot you can actually see up to 24 coronas at a time – and there is constant number of 8 to 10 coronas in the view at every moment. I know the coronas are like the latest “craze of the day” but sometimes enough is enough. The parts with torches fit the map better. The textures are pretty repetitive. The architecture of the castle walls and the cathedral is very good, though. It is impressive, massive masonry. It’s like a real castle. High and towering above. Usually the castles in UT maps are small and cute. This one is different – I like it. It could have a really ominous medieval atmosphere but the jolly music and the modern-looking coronas are making it sort of disappointing. The other good thing is that it’s very open map with plenty of room for running and dodging. If it weren’t for the lag the gameplay could be perfect.

Best map in the pack IMO. I have one complaint though, one nali can be killed for a cheap frag. Please block off the building he is in if you are making a second version.

Yeah this is probably the best map in the CTC pack. It's pretty cool, the architecture is something new and refreshing. The texturing is good, lighting is alright (a bit too many coronas though, it causes some lag). The bots play it descent. You'll have to add a few to help balance the gameplay, otherwise you'll be running around awhile. I noticed 10 bots seemed pretty adequate.

A pretty solid map that any DM fan should give a whirl.

This map lags. The stupid bugs keep on diving into the lava... If this map wasn't going at 8 frames a second I might enjoy it a lot. :(

This map it's way too Large! I play with 15 bots....and oh man..it's like hide and seek game!
