| DiFool 03-19-2003 01:41 PM MST | Rating: 7 | | The good news: this BIG, symmetrical map has a LOT of different (and highly varied) paths to and from each base-4 main ways into the flag room via 5 separate paths which tend to intersect here and there. It is an underground map with lava pits (the ones which kill you slowly not instantly) and all the various paths make for a fairly enjoyable romp. There are also some traps (killing force fields) you can switch on to kill enemies.
Only two negatives are that two routes are quite a bit shorter than the others (a fault which a lot of multi- pathed maps make), so the bots use those most of the time, and yes the bots. Sometimes they get stuck doing that back-and-forth shuffle I'm sure is familiar to most veteran players, and the elevators in the middle of the flag room need a LOT of work (the poor buggers stand underneath the elevator so that it comes down, hits them on the noggin, and goes back up, so if a flag carrier is down there he hardly ever can get up to the flag room to make a cap). If the AI and that elevator got fixed I'd give it a 9-it is that good IMHO.
