is this a port from the game doom1??
i di the same thing for ut99, it was my first map i got really happy with it and i had all the secret rooms and all, but i didnt release it wich i dont think u should have either :(
anyway the map sux ass too cramped and lame graphics, instead of sending the map to nalicity next time if u think the map is good let someone (beta)test it an u will see if its good (acceptable) before nc3 gets it

i get angry everytime i see this, a bad map getting lots of lots of comments while my own and everyone elses good maps barely gets noticed :@

This map doesn't really resemble DOOM1 at all.
Here is a list of the things I found wrong with it:
-I'm guessing it's meant to represent the first level, but its just doesn't, really.
-The Scaling is waaaay off, the rooms are barely big enough to jump across, and if you tried double jumping you would probably hit the ceiling.
-The sheet brushes used for the windows can be walked through.
-There are textures misaligned everywhere and the slime is broken, as far as I can tell.
-There is a zoneportal sheet that doesn't work because of a gap, due to bad brush placement.
-The whole map is zone-lit except for the odd white light coming from a window, which shouldn't even be white light, seeing as the skybox is a streched blue and orange planet.
-The botpathing is just terrible e.g you don't need 16 nodes going up staircase for a bot to walk up it.
-The weapon bases still have the default misaligned skin on them, which looks very odd.
-All of the brushes are either overlapping or misaligned, probably because the grid was set to something ridiculous like 2 during the time spent making the map.

Also, not included in that 13mb zip file is a package called ambancient, so you can't play the map through the in-game menu.

This map gets a rating of 0.5, because it isnt just a subtracted cube.

rofl.... I think even redfist wouldn't like this one :P

A question to the author: id software released Doom 3 last august. They said it's Doom 1 like it's supposed to be. Yet, with the tools given to you, you exactly (try) to copy the original map?

I woulnd't know where to start giving criticism on this map - everything is just wrong. Lighting, architecture, flow.......

LoL,,,Slaskin,, make a bad map then hehe,I don't think you want the comments,but the reason I wont try thiis map is cause i did'nt think doom at the time was a cool game,and after reading $???? who ever his name is above,and he knows mapping and 13 meg,,not my cup of tea,
Now do a quake1 map and i'll try it.

no rating. af for slaskan, i agree. how come noone notice my ok maps but peoples slam my sucky ones? ^_^

keeep working at this map, maybe take it to UP as a beta and polish and refurnish it and it would be a ok map then; i wont rate until taht happens though. i'll be looking for this map in 'map anouncements' forums everywhere. keep on trying! ;)

what the hell is up with such a high file size? the screenshots suggest this map is very bland and very dull. why'd i spend an hour downloading this bland and what looks inaccurate map? (Ill take this time to imply some more of my hatred towards telstra). *hatred towards telstra*

Good job though... i mean, this is a populor post.
