Map DescriptionAfter some archeoligists found ancient temples deep under the surface of Na Pali, they immediantly began invenstigating and excavating it.
Short after Liandri found out, they made a deal with the archeoligists, they will get lots of money and will shut up about the new found artifact. The archeoligists would have 49% shares in the artifact. Liandri immediately transformed the huge artifact in a deadly Death Match arena. They called it Magmarena, due to the hot magma flowing below and the natural arena shaped cave. The architects still unknown, but Liandri doesn't care about ancient history.

NOTE: I made this map in early 2004, at the age of 15.

I'm afraid that this isn't very good. it's basially a round room (quite large with a floor that opens to reveal a lava pit) surrounded by an even larger room off of which small square rooms with spawning points are. There are plasma thingys which are supposed to create a plasma beam and then kill someone i suppose but i couldn't figure out how to use them

Textures are repeated and lead to a rather mundane level-e.g. the large floor space is just the same repeated wooden texture.

The level design isn't very interesting, and it's very rare to see a bot inside the central room, which is where the flak cannon and the rocket launcher are. Even these are above the doors on ledges, so you need grav boots to get them. This is fine for you but the bots aren't clver enough.

It generally starts as a enforcer battle to start as you kill the bots near your spawn point (3 if you're playing 16 bots) adn then go and get the good weapons. then you kill the rest.

If you like long range battles (i dont think there's a sniper rifle) then this is the map for you, but you'll need to find the bots first.

sir, have you played my map LONGER than 5 minutes? There IS a sniperrifle (4 in total).
Last thing: what the HELL do you mean with PLASMA THINGYS? DUH? Did I make something I can't remember?

You just don't appreciate somebodyelses work, I doubt you even made a map yourself. Take a look at the maps that DO deserve this rating, because I am pretty sure my map is AT LEAST higher than a 4.

You are the first one to rate my map, and now there will be a 1 as User Rating, resulting in total ignorance of my map from EVERYBODY, just like some other 'person' did with my map ONS-DarkZone.

Some advice for your Revenga...

First off this is the WRONG place to submit your maps! Nali City tends to favor only the higher quality work. I think almost if not all the reviewers here are VERY critical of anyone else's work, and no, most of them can't map worth a darn. There are exceptions of course, but I haven't met one yet.

Secondly nobody reads the comments - the usually go by screenshots. I had to pump my over-bright monitor even brighter just to make out yours. From what I can see I can honestly say I'm not downloading this. The map just doesn't appeal to me - I'm sorry man. If you desperately want some help then tell me. Used to be over at my site a mapper like yourself could go in and recieve some pretty comprehensive, unbiased, facts-only reviews. But my site has dead, an I've pretty much given up.

Anyhow you're belying your age whining about the comment that guy left - just ignore it, sift through the crap, find the facts, and work on the flaws that actually are flaws which folks mention. Keep pumping out maps and don't get discouraged. Try Insite for better reviews, or hang out at Unreal Playground - you'll probably like that crowd better.

and revenga, You dont apreciate someone that gives comments, if you dont like em, dont submit your map k.

Id rate this map about a 2/3ish.
And about ons darkzone..

same story, if the map is good, it can resist a few 1's
if its not, more will follow.

Also rating isnt everything, have fun when u make a map, and know that when you submit a map here there will be people critic about the map, just as there are people that will give supportive comments and very harsh comments, use them all to improve your mapping.
Believe me, if your map gets recieved very well becouse you put a lot of love and efford in it,
You will feel much more satsified yourself.
But if you cant handle critics.. dont submit maps..

its as easy as that m8 :)

I'll give a real comment on this later when i've played it, for now.

Yes, I agree that UP is much more frendly and willing to help since the mappin forum off NC has dried out.

Further more, when gettin awfull crits, just suck it up like a man or you'll end up like RedFist and that isn't a good thin. Srry red, even though I think you're an OK guy , you do get tempered very fast. Not a very good mapper quality.

Here, we go,
The weapons are placed in interestin spots. The powerups not. Most textures seem to repeat to much. No trim and the lantern deco makes them feel dull (the lights I mean ) so never use them. And the spriteforward on the lantern corona's is set to a to high ammount or the default wich makes them very big from a distance. The textures are sometimes to big, but still repetetive so they're just a bad choiche. And the lack of supportbeams of course.

You have a long way to go young mapper. Good luck and beta testing is your frend, Don't neglect your frends!

And NC does have quite high standarts when it comes to reviewing, but so does the commenting and rating community.
