Map DescriptionThis was my first map ever released waaay back in the day. After a long delay and with the help of Neo Nite, I've finally gotten my hands on it.

I've uploaded this map so you can all have a good chuckle at my expense.

GNOME: Welcome to Urban Distortion. Please deposit all your weapons at the front desk after passing though the metal detector, thank you.
SAPPER: So let me get this straight, this company called Urban Distortion Inc., who just happens to have the most absurdly fast and unrealistically high elevators ever constructed, seems to have offices for several famous names in UT society. I wonder what exactly it is they do here.
GNOME: I know. They come up with million dollar ideas that don't work and then write them off and get subsidized...genius.

THE AWE FACTOR
SAPPER: You know, I think more effort was put into putting a nice painting on the wall than actually making the map.
GNOME: Really not very impressed here. Varied themes in architecture here. Varied lighting. Variede texturing. Varied kinds of lifts and elevators. I also feel like I should be wearing rainbow colored hair, flip-flops and a big red nose walking around here.

THE BUILD
GNOME: The high point of this map is the totally awesome soundtrack that came with it that totally doesn't fit the map at all. Sound effects, though also ill-fitting, as used throughout and frequently. Lots of lifts and elevators to play around on. Even a fully functional M60 which of course isn't called an M60 because every author has to have their own name for the same gun.
SAPPER: If I got on one of those elevators in real life, I'd be subject to stronger g-forces than astronauts during a space shuttle launch. Seriously, sound doesn't travel that fast. You can't scoot up 70 stories in less than a second. It's just not possible.

THE CAST
SAPPER: If I ever have to see a bot running back and forth like a 2-year-old pushing elevator buttons over and over again, I can't be held responsible for my actions.
GNOME: I think the most frustrating thing was trying to find weapon or moving between levels without getting creamed by campers.

OVERALL
SAPPER: Actually, I think this map would be better played as a Suicide Match as opposed to a Deathmatch. You know, come in, take your shoes off, look at some pretty pictures and then DIE!!!
GNOME: I think you're overreacting.
SAPPER: Do you have anything good to say about this map right now?
GNOME: Umm...not really, no.
SAPPER: Neither do I. See y'all tomorrow.

i aint liking this one too much.. its like one of those " classic newbie maps " .. big ideas, little skills :/ .. but thats just my opinion. also i found a few errors..some black lines down walls that look like bad brush work :/ ...surely this cant be a real Mr.Prohet map ? ..
lol, or am i just missing the whole point of that (rather good) picture ? ..like is it trying to show the map is pants ? hehe. i dunno.. some good ideas and parts in the map.

My first map ever made for UT 5 years ago. Uploaded now for amusement value. Feel free to rip on it as much as possible:)

Actually, I'm not limiting myself to requested maps. I'm simply reviewing them all. Although Arcadia will probably end up getting all the really good ones...I've had my fair share of nice maps.

Everyone starts from somewhere...

One day: you upload a map with an ugly mis-textured cube with four lights that cause a messy meltdown of illumination with a Redeemer in the middle. Someone goes by and tells you: "You and your maps suck and iz uuugly! Git, outta here, fooj! We don't need n00bz jike you!"

Next day: you upload a high-poly uber-laggy uber-nice-assorted-lighting map with a fancy-shmansy name and then someone tells you: "WOW! Dude! j00r m4p pwnz azzez!!! 10 for the hoool thing1!!"

Next^2 day: people become scared of you as your name is flashed in a forum. Your name is now used as a spammy thingy for map-download-hub-website ads.

So shoot me, I think this map is super fun and even more so with realistic weapons or instagib. (The default UT weapons just don't cut it anymore.)
