Map DescriptionA collection of giant (mini-me) maps all taking place in/around a kitchen counter. This map pack contains seven maps all with original, detailed staticmeshes and textures and attempts to cross the love-hate divide of players who are either for or against this type of map. Meaning there's something for everyone; boards with wide-open sniper-loving spaces as well as thoughtfully planned-out layouts to prevent that kind of thing. Over six months in production, there is at least one map for almost every game type.

OOh i see now.
Thanks for description. Sounds cool, even though I am not a fan of MINI ME maps but not against them either.
I am going to take a look.
wonder if this was done by one person or a team.
TO THE AUTHOR. Keep in mind- there are many nitpikers who will scream at you that you did not include the description. Just be aware.
Nice job on map squad.

EDIT- NOOOOOO not DMs!! MAKE ONSLOUGHTS! PPL play it more often, because there is some goal in fight rather then a headless chicken kill matches.

I am not the author but I have downloaded this MapPack. It contains 7 maps all Giant Type and played in a kitchen - covers pretty much all of the gametypes and five different areas of the Kitchen. Maps included are as follows:

ONS-SPAC-Countertop
DM-SPAC-Basin
CTF-SPAC-Basin
DOM-SPAC-Dishes
BR-SPAC-Flowerbox
CTF-SPAC-Flowerbox
VCTF-SPAC-Stove

A friend and myself played the DM map last night over the internet and had a real great time in it. It appears to me with such a varied pack that the author wants to reach as many people as possible. IMHO this pack should be great although I must say that I am a DM person and I have not tried the other gametype maps as yet.

I am reserving my rating for the whole pack for the time being as the rest need to be cheked out. If the rest of the maps are anything like the DM one - It has my vote and a great rating. Looks to be a lot of custom content in this pack - according to the read me and what my eyes tell me as well.

I would love to see more maps from this author in the Giant Type of Map but all in DM - well maybe some straight up CTF as well.

Well worth the download if you like Giant Maps or even if you don't - just to look at them.

EDIT: Just finished the rest of this pack this afternoon. Played with my buddy and a pair of bots across the internet - spent a really terrific two and a half hours going through them. Truely awesome. I don't know where the author has been hiding but these are all super. It is the first time to my recollection that I have seen anything from him.

Details, Details - In the ONS Map for instace - my buddy picked up on some details that I didn't - he is more of a tourist than I am especially in maps such as these. A couple of things were - an iPod playing music - with recipe on the display and a seek a word I belive he said on the back of a box. All of the maps are very well done and run great. Custom meshes content is really great. All maps are very well done and the bots are quite exellent in them.

Even if you don't like "Me Small Maps" - you really should try these out and add them to your collection.

Sicko Teddy: Hmm.. I swear I had submitted a description with the pack! Well, I added it since - thanks for the heads up. While I tried hard to get a few of my friends to join in & help with the pack, this whole thing is a one-man job! All it took was a good bit of time. And yeah, I was really concentrating on making some of the maps here (especially the ONS) loveable by even those who dislike the giant maps. The key problem with bad giant maps is that they have "miles" of empty space in them. Like someone moved into a house but only put in a table, chairs, and a lamp. As you can tell from these maps, they're PACKED with obstacles to play in.

Elric: Thanks for the detailed description, great comments, and heads-up through my forum at winkyboy.com! Where have I been hiding? Well, I actually did a good handful of maps for UT99, but most of them were for the Unreal Badlands mod. I've got pix of each map + downloads on my site. But there WAS a bit of time where I was off-scene, getting married, starting a family, etc. etc. Plus, I find I'm more quiet on most forums than others... BUT I just needed to get back into the thick of it, so I made this!

I'll see about whipping up some more DMs for ya - I've had a few other map requests, too, so I don't know how long it'll take. But you will see more of me!

Wow, I luv 'Mini Me' maps, whether I play them for exploring or gameplay. I was expecting very crappy framerates when loading the ONS map. But surprisingly they were at a smooth 70 FPS.

Nice work Winkyboy!

PS: I've been thinking of a Jailbreak map where you get executed in a sink and escape in the plughole and land in a teleporter or something. Jus an idea that came up from my mind.
