| EvilSwanky 10-02-2004 07:05 PM MDT | Rating: 7.5 | | This map is cool, and it shows how a mapper can improve within a few months. But: I would have used the same wall texture all over the map, and maybe that should have been custommade. But you cannot expect everything, there's enough detail, multiple routes to the enemy flag and several fragfests. Good job. :)

I have to say it's certainly a great download though the screenshots seem a bit discouraging. Lighting was placed nicely with a variety of colors nicely mixed together dimly. All indoor with only a grate on the central room's cieling to show the dim lonely sky. A full-contact CTF map. If you play with several other players or bots than it's certainly going to be a fest.
| MasterZelgadis 10-11-2004 05:23 PM MDT | Rating: 8 | | First thing: The lighting is nice, he didn't use zonelights ^^
CTF-Tifosa is a nice, small map and it is a lot of fun playing it. The architecture is very good, no wall or ceiling looks too empty.
Gameflow is OK, Tifosa is a small map and you can learn the floorplan very fast. Items are placed very well.
But I think that these holes in the floortiles with plants growing out of them are very...VERY often used by nearly every UT mapper....it is nothing special anymore, although it looks very good in your map.
Keep up the good work!

The skytexture kinda small tile size and the side texture for the lights up the ramps the size ratio made it look funky ,the edge of the lights got chopped off. Map seems to be zoned off pretty good, the worst part is the lighting, there is light allright but it's all comming from the center supposedly top skylight but it made the map allmost the same brightness throughout. As well as the top darker section of the hallway, the texture is dim not very convncing light texture there too. Also you can see from the screnshot how that room is all lit up too much not totaly bad though.
There are 4 movers in there good build, not bad, coulda looked much better, same browness texture color and poor lighting placement. Gameplay is really good.
| Fodder McFly 07-05-2005 12:02 PM MDT | Rating: 8.5 | | Fun map, really enjoyed playing it. Was easy to tell bases apart. I liked the way that you can get to and from your flag using more than one route, yet the flags are not that far from each other.
Makes for some fast-paced CTF fun!
P.S. Who cares if he gave another map a zero....

| Doc K 07-14-2005 02:58 PM MDT | | NOTE: I inadvertantly posted my comment about this map in the wrong place (under CTF-Atropos). Sorry about that.
I'm truly amazed such a high percentage of new (and high quality) maps are still being crafted for UT99, over 5-1/2 years after its release. I rarely play it anymore and never online ( I made the jump to 2K4), but I may have to rethink that.
This map is a perfect example. First I did a walk-thru. The map lived up to the screen shots — with fine architecture, texturing, lighting and item placement. Flow seemed good, and z-axis was adequate.
Then I actually played a few bot matches, first with standard weapons and then Instagib. Unfortunately, gameplay with just 9 bots resulted in some lag, pretty much all over the map, enough to be bothersome. I've never experienced lag in non-LAN or non-online play. Maybe it's due to low FPS or high poly counts, or maybe it's not even map related. I'll have to give it another try before I can give a rating.
If the choppy play isn't inherent to the map, It would deserve a 7.5.
| milb 07-14-2005 03:55 PM MDT | Rating: 7.5 | | This one plays well! I like the pathsystem, easy to learn, fast gameplay here! Archi is good, only the cieling in the midsection looks empty. The problem is the lighting. Not enough contrast, nearly no shadows, think it looks to bright everywhere!
7.5 here!
