| redfist 12-14-2005 09:51 PM MST | | There are some strange things I did with this one, I had to resend this because some may learn some things from it, don't learn from my brushwork though hehe (this same level was here before, no changes). So any rating is a good rating, but check it out anyway.
But the concept is that you can look out a window (skyzone) see the outside geometry of this map your in. However you can also jump out that window to go to the outside of the map,and then a teleporter to bring you back inside the map again.
When you look out the window you are seeing a moving skyzone attached to a looping mover on a timed trigger wich is accuated from the blobletts or the pupea ,then the window view is as if you were going around the outside moving.
Someone should do a really cool map like this in ut2004 accept use translucent tubes for people to see you whip by.Or somthing like this but done better. There are monsters in there, so your ut ini file needs to be set to see them, or anyother map with monsters-pawns in them.
When I think about it, there should of been even 2 more even smaller movers.Because when you look out there should of been a small one moving in the skyzone.Then, another one in the warp zone to see it moving around it while your in there.like catch22, but it's all an illusion.
EDIT Heh, well Pomperi, did you jump out the window? thanx for your opinion. The teleporter is not supposed to work, it is only an exit.However I think there is a place to change the text I think for teleporters. And I did have a better looking skybox but using lighting 6 lights, but when I rebuilt it is took like 1 hour, in this case each light you add to this skybox like multiplies the rebuild time, so I had to go with unlit. And you make good maps, then madientist I like the best.
And just incase for whomever,if someone is below the steps shooting from that lower area,you can go step on that red button on the floor, that will lock them in there, so you can hammer them. Also if you shoot the end wall by the quad (or amp) those 2 walkways will drop, and the button on the walkway will crush the other side. And the supershock is in the level,and total 2 redeemers. Also I did this map 12/15/02, and only fixxed it up for some other things.

| ChromeBallz 11-12-2005 10:48 PM MST | | The concept is indeed very nice - but the execution doesn't deliver the full potential. The flow especially is awful - lots of oneway tubes, narrow tubes, annoying edges to get stuck on.
And yes, it's no beauty to look at either :P

| Pomperi 11-13-2005 02:49 PM MST | Rating: 4 | | I though it would be better then this, especially since you've downrated every single of my maps based on bland visuals, but seriously, this map isn't very good. Texturing was horrific, mesh usage was terrible and the brushwork was just bad. It did have some original stuff though, but the gameplay was about as exciting as midget porn. I should also point out that one of the teleporters isn't working.
Btw, i must compliment the skybox. It wasn't exactly leet-looking, but i really loved it anyway. Especially that lonely guy standing at the window while i drove by :)

| II-DarkElf-II 11-13-2005 07:39 PM MST | | No insult intended, but how long have you been mapping, Red? You remind me of ME when I first started making maps long ago. Good concept but needs work on everything. Seems everyone likes you because the worse so far was the Miget Porn comment (funny btw Lol). Man did I take some verbal beatings! But chin up and keep at it! I've always believe in positive feedback towards negative comments and always will. Things that would have helped: Light sources, aligned textures, better flow, more stuff in the map instead of open spaces, could have taken away the texture from the 2nd teleported to make it invis (go in porter's properties> display, and clear the texture I believe- or something like that just fiddle with it- you can also clear the message saying its not working), and too much ammo in some spots. Things I liked: The shooting tubes, the trap (love traps!), and the room with the glass door.
I could not rate this map however due to the fact that I never witnessed this "skybox" that everyone is talking about and never found the first teleporter. I ran through the map with no bots several times trying to find both and nothing. Hmmm maybe I'm missing something. I'll check it out again later and see if I can find what I missed. Keep it up bro!

I don't really know how to rate this since I gather it's not really a map that's supposed to be played a lot... seems more like an experiment, or a demo of some cool things you can do with the editor. But heck, it was fun for a few minutes.
