I was looking foreward playing this remake of the sweet UT99-map. So I downloaded it, copied the files to the designated folders, but ... oops... the map doesn´t appear in the CTF-list of UT2004 (!?!)
WTF happend?
EDIT: That´s quite what I did. I checked the 3 folders for the files and they are where they should be. Doesn´t work!!! Never had such a problem with other maps before...
EDIT 2: You are right, H4nD. I don´t have the CBP2 installed. And as I tried to start the map directly from the map-folder, a message of a missing file called cbp2-Tropica.Tex appeared.
FINAL EDIT (I promise): Yeah, now it works...although my 56K-modem was a little bit shocked by the new file-size. But I didn´t regret the download. The map is simply great. The egyptian style is sweet and it plays as good as the original. Bots work well...in fact the enemy bots knew how to kick my ass!!!
By the way: How can people rate a map (even a 10) without having UT2004???

This probably means that a necessary package is missing from the zip.

He has it setup to use folder names when you unzip it. Check your map, textures and staticmesh folders for the files placed inside their folder. Cut and paste time. :) Pretty nice remake. Feels a little smaller.

Turns out that it was missing a texture file. The issue has been corrected and a new file package is available. Sorry for the hassle. =
As for the size, it's identical to the ut99 version - with the exception of the underwater passages, which are a hair wider so the bots don't get stuck.

The map is an almost prefect reproduction of the original.Bot paths are non-existant, all bots mass around the flag defending , orders to get the flag are ignored.

Didn't recognize it at first, but it's a great remake of a great classic map. There were a few lighting issues, but nothing to get irritated about.

I haven't really played much CTF since moving on to 2K4 (ONS is my game of choice now), but I LOVED the original UT99 version of this map back when I lived and breathed CTF. This is a very worthy successor. Just a couple of minor quibbles. There's an HOM on top of the sarcophagus-like box inside the alcove containing the rocket launcher on the blue side. I translocated up there assuming there would be a shield power-up as in the original. Since there isn't, I guess it's not a big deal, but something to think about fixing. Also, the movement of the water at the top of the swim escape chutes behind the flag platforms is excessive, like something you'd see on a larger expanse of water. Just dial it back a bit. Otherwise, this update is SWEET!
