| Checkmate 08-09-2004 10:33 PM MDT | | I hope people enjoy this map better then my DragonHouse map.
Ive seen this map run on a 8500 radeon only 900 amd processor and 256 of ddr ram and it runs great but you must have something slower then that and thats sad you need to get yourself some new parts kid.
but i figured most ut2k4 players have somthing better then thoughs. You must be one of them flak cannon lovers in them inclosed area's where it takes no aim lol
ahh but its ok i dont mind your comments after all there just comments
Yea im not to well with lighting.
| ChromeBallz 08-09-2004 12:54 PM MDT | Rating: 3.5 | | It still carries DragonHouses flatness, however, the visuals are nice at the first look. Also, it's a little too big when you see that so little actual space is used to play on. Some of the corridors are simply too dark, narrow and long, and the entire map feels like a single narrow corridor for that matter.
Also, don't go overkill on some of the meshes; the plant meshes in the hall are simply too oversized to feel right. The statues are overkill (not to mention a flowkiller), and personally i don't like it when mapper put their name in brushes in a level, which has no function whatsoever other then eating resources of the pc.
The visuals are nice (mostly), but the gameplay lacks in room to move.
This is from a first glance, i'll try to look at it more closely some time.... :)
Definetely an improvement over dragonhouse though, i'll give you that.
I'd also suggest you delete the (CM) tags from both the name and the brushes in the level. Nothing personally, but i always think it looks very egocentric to me. That's why i also don't like DM-Codex too much (from ut99 :P).
| Shao 08-09-2004 10:22 PM MDT | | nalicity please ban Redfist :P:D:)
lol Hidra 18 MB isn't so big....i already see a ut2k3 map with 36MB ( i forgot the name )
and by the way same as DragonHouse , you should concentrate on lighting.
| sandorski 09-18-2004 09:19 PM MDT | Rating: 4.5 | | I really like the look of this Map, nicely done. What I don't care for are some of the hard to see Paths, one is too dark to see and if you miss it you'll fall to your death, the other is covered over with Plants and is only visibly apparent as passable from the bottom. Overall flow is below average and the Map seems claustophobic.
| Manticore 05-03-2005 01:10 AM MDT | Rating: 4.5 | | In my opinion this map is let down by the look. There is too much going on visually, too many different visual styles represented despite the size of the map.
The lighting lets the map down too; as do the falls into killzones. It could have been a good large scale map but it's very confused.
Sorry, it could have been good if it had a more simple approach to the look....... and I must agree about the use of the statues and the name.
