| MenuBar in Hell 10-10-2004 06:53 PM MDT | Rating: 5 | | I've played this one a couple times, in various styles (Arena, Instagib, CarLaunch, etc). I like "MeSmall" maps, and this one fits nicely on our server rotation. Nothing really special about this map, but then there's nothing really bad about it either, so I give it a 5.
Some tricks and traps are always nice in MeSmalls and this one doesn't have any, but if you like these kind of maps it's worth having a copy.
We need more MeSmall and Real Places maps!

Whenever authors are too lazy to hide the HUD while making the screenshots it begs the question if they are also too lazy to pay attention to an accurate brush construction and texture alignment. And as in most cases they obviously were. The recommended playerload is 6-16 but there are only 11 playerStarts, the map is illuminated with zonelight and the few brushes that were used are placed off the grid. They should have used antiportals within the big bed-staticMesh but nothing was done to improve the performance. The playerStarts didn't have been rotated so the player faces a wall after spawning. So I wasted my time with another crappy noobmap.
| sandorski 11-09-2004 07:11 PM MST | Rating: 3.5 | | So-so Map. Some of the StaticMeshes, especially the lamps, are well done and well Textured, but the Map suffers from other problems:
1) Lighting is very boring, didn't check it out in UEd but Zonelighting seems to be used. Would have looked much better without Zonelighting
2) When on the Floor there doesn't seem to be a way to get ontop of things. Perhaps I missed the way to do it, but it should be more obvious.
3) When on the Floor(most of the time) there is very little cover. More objects on the floor would make the Map more interesting Gameeplay wise.
