Luckily, one upstart young executive exclaimed during a board meeting convened to decide how to make a new Arena on limited funds, 'Let's just make a level with a bunch of cheap reinforced cardboard boxes, a few ramps, an elevator and a two glass pyramids!' And so Pyramids was born.
I would really appreciate any feedback about this map, I really want to learn as much as I can from this level. Thanks =) ------------------------

| Innominate 07-04-2004 02:12 AM MDT | Rating: 4.5 | | I currently started mapping myself a couple of months ago so I know how it is. The first thing I notice was the lighting. Most of the lights have no sources, if not all, and in the middle of the field the lighting was BRIGHT especially when you look down at the ground. Some places were so dark that I couldn't even see the bot when it was running around in it. The visuals were really plain, mainly brushes and a couple of static meshes that make up the elevator and steps, overall nothing really eye catching and there were alignment errors with the meshes. There were no sounds at all not even music. There were no level preview pic(s) when you select the level and the ReadMe wasn't up to par with the standard info such as build time and stuff. Was this map put together in less than 1 hour? Because it sure does seem like it...
The layout was pretty good and straight forward, I like the clear pyramids and the elevator. Truthfully I thought that gameplay would be bad because of... well a lot of things were, but I was wrong. The gameplay is pretty decent showing that the author did well on the bot pathing. Overall this is not a bad map or it is a great map, but it is a good first attempt to get the author into the world of mapping.
Sorry if I may sound harsh but this is constructive criticism and it'll shine some light on your mistakes. I'll tell you what someone told me, "Everyone's first map is their worse." So dust yourself off and try again. GL on your future maps and hope to you see your second map in NC. Oh yeah, one more thing, most people won't DL a map that is not at least 1 MB b/c well most maps that are lower than 1MB are crappy.
*Note: I have both versions of your map and well I don't see a difference in the one you uploaded correctly and the one you uploaded incorrectly except for the filesize which was insignificantly small.
