ONS-BGA-Core | | Map Info |
| | File Name | ons-bga-core.zip | Author | Ash | Gametype | UT2k4 Onslaught | Date Added | 06-15-2004 | File Version | 1.00 | File Size | 5.5 mb | Player Count | 8-16 | Map Description | This is my first release for UT - all my previous work was for a different game. Being relatively new to UEd (even though I've been tinkering with it for about a year now) I decided to go with something visually basic but IMHO, fun to play - hence this cavernous, modular storage facility. I learnt a lot from this and other DM maps I've not released and I'm already planning something better based on everything I've learned. Thanks to Nali City for the hosting and feedback/productive criticism very much wanted. | Review Rating | -- | User Rating | 6.5 | Overall Rating | -- |

I wanted to give 6, but while this map is original, you get 7.

only issue i have with it is that it doesn't have anything with which to distinguish itself. really just a bunch of interlocking corridors with only the map to show where you are and nothing to indicate where to find items. about the only thing to expect is the weapon lockers and vehicles near each power node.
needs a little something more tho... suggestions: a bit bigger with some minor corridors off to the sides and more hidey spots (from tanks etc); sniper spots!; a center node (ie. choke point) with branching corridors; colour coding or flags/unique indicators for each corridor; higher bot count won't hurt either (2-4 more) and make them use the available space more effectively.
otherwise, all in all, it's a fine map :)
| Ash 06-15-2004 11:04 AM MDT | | Thanks guys. skaet`en, you highlighted a lot of the weaknesses that I hope to address in future work. I'm hoping to improve further in UEd so hopefully the next one will be a little more inspired ;)
EDIT - How many more times can I get the word hope in :P
